Good Morning I'm new to ZX14R Life but been riding all my life and now have a few questions.
I just got a 2017 14R SE and had no check engine codes. I put the buke up on the bike stand and started to add new LED turn signals and tail light sounds easy and no issue right...... I found that I bought a bike that had some mouse wire damage in the ignition wire harness right next to the IS wire..... So clean out mouse nest and disconnected battery and start to clean up......I still at this point have no codes. IO put it all back together and start the bike still no issues let it idle then give it some juice and soon as the bike revved up POP ignition fuse blew.....okay replace and as soon as I keyed bike on pop again and 3 more times.....so I stop and re trace my steps found out the previous owner had some accessories wires he ran off the ground and power so I disconnect them and she started up but now is flashing KTRC and FI lights.....Then the following codes come up after my tech at the shop showed me how to check the codes..

For all these codes to come on someone said it might be loose battery terminals. Nope snug as a bug. The strange thing is the bike is not in limp mode She will stand right up no issues. Runs over 6k RPM but have a 100 miles on the bike after the ordeal. I was told since the back tire was off the ground and the key was on and my son was spinning the rear wheel that is the error.... Does anyone have any other thoughts.....

Also I never cleared out the codes yet does anyone know how to clear the codes on the 2017? With out going to another dealer

then repeat, till the code disappears

I have the same bike. It's either a trip to the dealer to clear it, or ride it a lot for little things. That means it's not turning the key on and off 40 or so times. It will eventually clear on its own in so many key cycles.

For example, I disconnected my 02 sensor and the light came on. Plugged it back in, does not quickly turn off the code like early gen 14's. Mine turned off eventually by just riding it a lot.

If you feel no limp, it's more no sensor is signaling wrong, a wire short or not connected. Ignore it and ride. Report it eventually when it turns off.

So after 175 miles the codes cleared out and all good to go. Just need to send out the ECU now to have it flashed and match my new full R77 Yoshi system I just put on.
