AC at the track ?
02/13/22 12:54 PM

Here is my thought .. It is very simple to ride my bike in and out of trailer .Heat is going to be major problem this year . I am thinking of a very small portable(?) ac unit powered by A portable gas powered unit. but I do not know how to match power requirements ? Any thoughts ? My trailer is only an 8 footer so probably smallest ac possible . OR ..any other idea for rapidly cooling the bike between runs . Sometimes less than 30 minutes between passes. Of course it would also benefit my on teh hot days and yesterday was dabng near 80 at the track .

I'd get the 5000 or 6500. Maybe water type swamp cooler types. Maybe two hitting both sides of the bike engine. For sure an over power unit, but will come in handy down the road. Puppies run forever. Buddy has an old one and we use this for tire warmers for one or two bikes. You'll get use to the noise, or longer extension cords and parked far away from the trailer so you don't take in the exhaust/noise.

For sure I'd keep the hours off the bike and warm it up to 160F and shut it down. By the time you wait to cook the tire or tag the yellows on, it's more at that sweet spot, and not 203F sitting at the light.

Well for next year you get you a 6x12 enclosed trailer and a 12,000 btu mini split and a harbor freight 3500 inverter generator. And you will have 60 degrees inside on 100 degrees outside race day. Put a CCTV camera on trailer to view whats happening outside . My trailer has all the comfort of home !!!!! PS i've learn't that size of trailer don't matter with gas mileage a 6x24 will use same amount of gas as a 6x12 just easier to get around with
