Kawasaki Aluma Cool

I noted an odd reaction when I mixed Kawasaki's Aluma Cool with distilled water...the mixture got slightly warm upon mixing. Has anyone experienced this?? The mix was 50/50 and the mixing container was clean.

Chemical reactions are sometimes accompanied by the production of heat. Not knowing what's in Kawasaki Aluma-Cool, it's hard to say exactly what chemical or additive may have cause a heat-producing reaction, but any coolant/anti-freeze should be compatible with distilled water, so it's probably nothing to worry about.

I did not know that Kawasaki had a coolant product. They may have added a PH adjustment additive to their product so that the end water / coolant solution is less corrosive for use in an aluminium system.
I just flushed my coolant system and put in Motul's Motorcool expert. There is no mixing involved. It has an upper range of 133 deg C (271 deg F) and a lower range -25 deg C (13 deg F) - for us Canuckleheads that enjoy the cold of winter.
It runs around $12 a bottle (1 litre).

Yea spy, Kawi's aluma cool is supposed to be run by itself with no water added. It's not corrosive to the aluminum.

Actually, the instructions on the aluma-cool bottle notes that the contents are not diluted and further instructs that a 50/50 solution is needed to provide the needed protection.

^^That was my observation as well and I followed instructs. Don't recall any warmth generated when mixing. Might not have noticed as I mixed the coolant in small batches testing the strength. After all of the meticulous mixing the strength was dilluted somewhat by the residual flush water leftin the sytem. Oh well, Floats 4 balls, not 5 but good enough.
