I know this is a long shot, but I am looking to buy a cheap arai rx7 corsair. LG or Med shell. all of them on ebay seem to go for 150+.
To be honest actually, I don't even want the helmet; I need the rubber base trim that goes around the opening for your head. If anyone (or your friends?) has one they have retired, crashed, wore out, etc; I need it. Its actually 2 pieces, a long one for the rear (back of the helmet) and a shorter front piece. THIS IS WHAT I NEED.
Long story, I had been drooling over the white wraith Rx7 when I had my last bike, 2003 R1. The shop near me had it on clearance, so I bought it in 2006-07. I then sold the bike, and had never worn it. After having it sit in the closet, I dug it out; ordered the correct size cheek pads and wanted to start wearing it, but the base trim had come off.
In searching for how to glue the trim on, I stumbled across a warranty thread that arai had extended the warranty for this issue, and that some helmets had been put together with the wrong glue or incorrect rubber. whatever.
I contacted arai, and they basically told me to pound sand. My warranty was expired last year, and they no longer had replacement parts for this issue. Even though this model helmet was made until much later, and should still have some out there under warranty.
The only suggestion they had was to glue the piece back on, which I did. I wore it last Thursday, and the front portion which seemed secure, has come off, and now is lost :( .
SO, after searching everywhere online, and even buying some trim pieces for a different model (hoping it will work) - it wont. I'm out of options.
don't want to wear my sweet rx7 with the front trim piece missing.
