No flies ? traction intervention?
08/09/19 12:08 AM

Guys
If i remove the flies on the zx14r, will it debilitate traction control?
It the traction intervention done by flies and ignition?

I have guhl flashed ecu, it was done around 2016
I know drag racers still pull them, but this bike will be used for sport touring,
I want full power, but I want traction control for poor roads when needed.

If we are controlling the flies 100% with flash, Im assuming the stock program for flies are applied , and for full power the mapping for flies is 100% open at all times?

thanks- Lyle.

My traction control still works with the flies removed.

Thanks, thats all I was concerned about. for the shitty roads, gravel and sand washouts , on tight corners and approaches I want it, I hate to admit after 30+ years riding I want abs and traction control.

I pulled them this morning.
Do you guys have ABS ? can you take pic of the lines and connections for the rear brake please?
Previous owner ripped it off the bike, and I want to reinstall it , I cant find any pics of the hose connections service manual has none of them. Galfer has none.

Show me exactly what you want pictures of and I’ll post a few this evening.

I believe it goes something like this. You have a handle on the door and can whip it open as fast as you want. What the flies do is push air on the door so it's harder for you to open it. Once you are wheeling, the front wheel may slow down, set the timing, but as far as closing the air into the engine with the sub shaft having no blades to slow the door down? Use is fucked!

If you have abs, find the two steel lines coming out from the tank's front beauty cover and down the neck of the right side. No lines, no abs at the rear wheel. Just buy a new rear brake line and banjo crush washers. Pick up a can of brake fluid and change the front fluid as well.

***** side thought ******

Even with traction control on, I can do awesome smoky rolling burnouts.

Kawasaki must allow for that some how. Maybe because I'm modulating the front brake it
cuts off TC?

Good question. Once the rear tire needs changing, I'll try that in f-1. F-off I can see that for drag racing, but if that cuts out the tc at the front brake, that too says drag racing option in f-1.

Traction control will kill your drag racing ETs.
