Hi guys, I'm interested in getting my 2008 zx14 turboed. I live in Ontario Canada (GTA). I called rcc and it looks like it'd be 5700 plus tax and installation which is a bit steep considering the value of my bike. I found a turbo part out on kijiji. The guy blew a motor and is selling everything, he wants 3500 for the kit. He says it's complete and was put together by champion cycle. It's a t3t4 Chinese cast with Garrett internals. WHAT do you guys think? I thought I'd scoop it if it's good and get rcc to install and tune. I'm not too familiar with turbos -anything I should look for or ask? I'm looking to build the bike primarily for street use.

Btw sorry if this seems like a repeat thread lol im posting on my brothers behalf he's getting one too.

2 things personally come to mind... "you get what you pay for" and he's selling the turbo off the engine he blew up..?

I'd LOVE to throw a snail on my baby, but I'd only do it if I could do it right and I would want to be able to ride it every day without worrying about the engine dying. So while it sounds like a good idea, I'd be suspicious of someone who's selling something that most likely resulted in the death of his engine, either there's a problem with the parts, or he didn't know what he was doing and either case its probably not a great idea.

That being said, if someone like Romans who already has a lot of knowledge of turbos on this bike could look at a kit and tell you if you'd getting better mileage out of your $3,500 at the local strip club than that kit or if its a great deal.
