Grn is right. Lots of windmill effect behind that sprocket cover and all the rest walking that leak out to that cracked spacer. But I think I know you enough, you'd be right on top of that lost clutch fluid too and know the difference.

I could be totally wrong...mine worked...why exactly IDK...I'm guessing there may have been some fluid possibly released after pulling the sprocket off and installing that I didn't see in there(from the slave piston). It happens. The spacer was however cracked...

I'm not dead. I'm a night CDL class A driver and I have to get in the mood to do chores. Today, I loosened the fairing and removed the slave cylinder and its piston.
My Bike was manufactured 02/2012 and I did not rescue it until 11/2012. It sat on the Dealer's showroom with 1 mile on the odometer on its kick stand. There is a slight groove in the bottom of the bore and the clutch fluid was mighty dark.
Metals bits on the O-ring.
I did not find a dust seal on the piston, so I figure bits of sand could have got into the bore.
I'm ordering the complete unit $94.
The plastic spacer is cracked and flaky on its inside. I'm replacing it, too.
Can I reuse the Banjo washers?

Hey doubleD. If you've undone them, for the dollar or two for new washers, I'd replace them while you have it apart. Others have used crush washers twice with no ill affects, but it's a gamble. I'd hate to have to do it twice for the sake of a dollar or so. If getting to your local dealers is difficult with your hours, just get some from your local brake repair shop. Copper ones will work the same.

In a pinch, yes. Look how those washers came off and what position is the flat and which is round and who is facing whom? But since you are going to order the unit complete, the broken spacer, go for new banjo washers too.
Yeah, that puppy is Junk. A new rubber gasket cannot close off that groove. That's where it sits so with the dirty oil, maybe a sooner oil change at the masters... I'm out the door changing mine right now .... I am not waiting any longer.

I installed a speed bleeder on mine, it makes changing the fluid a breeze, 1-2 minutes top.

The clutch fluid gets a lot darker than the brake fluid and it happens a lot quicker. I don't think the fluid had anything to do with it. I think it was all the lack of a dust seal. Glad you got it figured out.

There are lots of tiny metal particles in the fluid which surely would have cut the rubber seal in time. Even flushing the fluid would not have removed these particles; disassembly is the only way.
I found chaparral-racing.com discounts the slave assembly $23 compared to other vendors.

I bought the speed bleeders from sportbiketrackgear.com , they had a fitment chart on there site. All the bleeders (brake calipers and clutch cylinder) called for that part number on my 2007. Not sure if there the same for your year.

I cut a gasket from Book binding tape, slid it into place and used Synthetic Grease around the edge and shaft to slow down any dirt/grit coming from the front sprocket.
I used my 'Mighty Vac' to bleed the system. The secret is to replace the plastic hose that comes in the kit with a smaller/tighter hose.
