PNW road trip
07/16/16 1:31 PM

I just got back from over 2,200 miles of twisty roads through WA, OR, ID, and MT.

Fantastic riding, almost exclusively windy roads, maybe 5% highways (necessity).

I am fortunate to live within riding distance of such awesome roads - such as Lolo Pass, Rattlesnake Grade, etc.

Here are a few pics:

Sawtooth Mountain range in Idaho

Lolo Pass, Montana

Awesome newly discovered road in Oregon, hands down best scenery and twisty to boot

That is all.

Wish you would have let others know, I would have gone with you. Went to HCMR in Barker city. Bad weather screwed things up.

I actually stayed overnight in Baker City both directions of my trip.

Fantastic roads in that region...

Me and my buddy just got back from our annual Fall Road Trip, this time we went the other direction (CW)and tried out some new roads in Montana and Idaho.

Pretty cold most mornings - 20'S and 30's, Thankfully we had heated gear.

This one says it all!

Heated gear, I've got heated gloves & jacket (Gerbings heated clothing), and have ridden around that temp as well. Gotta be careful about cold tires, cold roads, and ice/frost however.

Those are some great pics and pretty jealous as that looks like a lot of fun. Not sure how you can do long multi-day rides, most I can manage is 6 hours in a day and then I'm done riding for a little while :(

While I can do the cold, it's not my favorite. Sucks to hit a nice, twisty stretch of road and not be able to ride my preferred pace down it

It's always nice when it warms up, and I can carry on as usual

As far as distance goes, I had to work up to long days. We did over 2,700 miles on this trip and I didn't want to come home.

Had to come back to earn some more gas money tho...
