If you have some skills, take a look at mounting up a rear rack that comes OEM the Suzuki V-Strom650. Here are some pictures of what I did to my 2008 ZX14. The grab handles work well for passengers too. I found the rack on EBay for $50.

I also put a DL650 rack on my bike. I had a local fabricating genius weld up front mounts and put well nuts in the subframe. It's very stable and holds the tail bag real good. I paid $20 for the rack on ebay. Someday I'll actually get off my ass and post pictures.

I followed zxrider11 example but changed a few things.
I did not cut off as much material on the front fingers and ran 2 bolts per side. I used convexed screw heads for clearance underneath. I did not cut the plastic lip for the bracket, but did notch my Corbin seat pan for clearance.
I did not remove the webbing underneath the luggage rack. I used electrical tubing and squeezed it to fit. I drilled holes through the plastic covers using threaded spikes to locate each hole.
I had another Bike with a top trunk and it was more useful than side cases for around town or short rides, so I got a MW top plate and V46 Givi from Twisted Throttle.

Thank you for the picture and information. If I make any mods I will post them up too. Also if anybody else is looking, there is one more for sale for $20 from the same sours. I just bought the $25 one becasue I hoped it was in better condition although they both looked nice.

Install completed last week before the Algona Iowa bike rally. Rack works out really nice and it is very secure on the bike. Install took a lot longer than I thought but it was worth it in the end. If you have access to some place that can bend the brackets it would be real easy. I formed mine with a big hammer and a vice. Thanks again ZXrider and Double D for the heads up and details!!

This is cool, guess it's time for me to get on ebay and try this mod with my 2013 14R.

Like the idea of having lockable storage.

Forgot to ask, will any 650 V-Strom rack work?

doubleD - Looks like you have Muzzy exhaust? Did you have to lower them to fit the Givi side cases?

I've read where sometimes the mufflers need to be lowered so they don't contact the side cases.

Thanks.

I purchased 18" Delkevic mufflers and removed the baffles. Delkevic welded a stop for the Centerstand on the mid-pipe. I never removed the Brackets lowering the stock mufflers. I needed the additional clearance because I've installed Buell foot pegs which dropped my foot about 1/2" back and 1" down.
I think if you use aftermarket mufflers the Givi Bags will still have plenty of room and will not get hot. Especially if you are installing Carbon Cans.

@doubleD - That's cool that the Buell pegs fit & are doing what you want. Thanks for all the info
