Gentlemen,
Wolf is ready ($) to order AKRA headers to match his Yoshimura R77 slips. I live in Canada. Someone please suggest a place to order this piece for the zx14 R. I believe I have to get an 02 bung plug?

Wolf there was a member here that installed the Akrapovic Dual header with his Yosh slip-ons. He was making over 200 rear wheel horsepower. Not sure where the thread is. Maybe somebody here could post a link. Would be nice to know if he had any fitment issues. Link anyone ?

I have the Akra headers. I got them from IndySuperbike for $490. <-- Direct link.

They went on easy IF you have a long ratchet extension and a swivel socket. Make sure to tell them that you need the O2 bung hole plug (I just love saying that LOL) Ahem but I digress. I got my pipes and got them on when I realized that there was no plug. They had Akra ship one to me but it took a week and a half... MAKE SURE TO TELL THEM :) It was cold when I put mine on so it wasn't a big deal.

And Romans is correct, I am making 200.2 HP and 120.2 torque. Enjoy.

Wolfy, going the flash route instead of a PCV ? wish I had some one in my area that had the woolrich, I just sent my ECU off a couple of weeks ago to Guhl, he did a good job, dont get me wrong but, the woolrich seems to be a good way to go ... Really sad that I live in one of the most populated areas in the USA, and there are no great well known tuners around ....

Hey Wolf, your bikes looking good man, but... And I would suggest to anyone, plastidip or paint your heel guards black. I did and you won't believe the difference it makes getting those things to "disappear"

How much do the headers really add on the 14r? I think I read where they are three pounds lighter compared to a Brock header. The oem looks to be a decent design and being catless I just wonder if its worth it.

Those yosh pipes look great btw.

Jason I hear that from a few valid sources, so I am indecisive, do I jump in, do I not!!!Plus having her flashed has boosted performance like wow!

I have not fully commited, but some folks posted here that they are seeing hp numbers well into the 210's and that my friend is irresistable! Also the flash has rectified the back fire and burbble of those pipes.

But I agree Jason - how much difference could it make?

About the yosh thanks man been riding 19 years and I have rocked Yoshi exclusively, they are my brand. Sure some might be louder or nicer, but I've only rocked Yosh and have been very happy bro!

Yea, I cannot give you any empirical evidence since I was only able to dyno after I had everything done (R-77's Akra headers, PCv, Brocks ECU flash). At the very least you are saving weight. Now, I have HEARD that the headers really help pick up the power numbers... but that is what I hear.

All I know is that my dyno paper says 200.2hp ;-)

I was going to get the Brocks setup but couldn't justify the $2300. This seemed like a great compromise.

Here is how I see it, you got the baddest bike, do what you can to pep it up... within budget and sense, cause we could get super stupid with these things.

Omega, that is totally appreciated and level headed advice...I've been a little mod crazy lately, so you're right, one must balance buck for horsepower and it is wise to ask if it is worth it!
