High beams not on unless switch is hit
03/02/15 11:47 AM

Need help. When my bike is running the regular headlights and city lights are on but the high beams lights are not on at all. However, When i hit the high beam switch the high beams do come on. Prior to this problem and got my ECU Cblasted and I switch out the factory battery for shorai and I changed my city lights from factory clear to blue. Any suggestions/solutions to this problem would be appreciated. Thx

When a 14r bike is running all the headlights are suppose to be on. High beams or low beams until you turn on the high beams. My high beams have no low beam. High beams come on if the high beam switch is on. If the high beam switch is off the lights are out completely.

"When a 14r bike is running all the headlights are suppose to be on"...no,they're not.High beams are just that.Switch activated.Low beams? They SHOULD be coming on at startup.(automatically)

Your lamps are fine.That top pic...that's correct.That lower pic...high beams switched on.Your bike's fine.

Someone tell you yours was not okay?It is.

I'm assuming you have that White ninja there. You do know there's a HIGH BEAM passing switch on the left handlebar switch housing.Operated with the index finger. You can be in LOW BEAM mode, and for passing, simply pull that little finger switch there(in front of the housing). It will allow high beam flashing.High beam mode, the switch doesn't do anything.Nice little safety feature I think.

Is there a separate fuse for the low beams?

Yes GRN I have the white ninja. Thx for the input. No1 told me it was wrong. I assumed it was wrong cuz im use to seeing the top pic when my bike is running. The other day i started it after a few small mods i saw the bottom pic and got worried something was wrong. Didnt know about the switch for passing in low beam mode. I will definitely be checking that out.
