2022 MotoGP
12/21/21 12:23 AM

I know I know.
As always it's a very early start for next seasons thread but might as well incase anyone has anything to add pre season.
What are we looking at in 2022?

M Marquez.
Who the fuck knows?
A pivotable year for his future.
If it's another 2020 / 2021 kiss goodbye his riding future.

Quartararo.
How much of the success of 2021 will he be able to replicate and how will he deal with the hot Ducati's?

The Ducati's of Miller and Bagnaia
So much expectation. So much talent. Such great machinery.
Can they make Ducati world champions?
Must be favourites.

Can the usual suspects such as Morbidelli, Zarco, Nakagami, Rins, Mir, the Espargro brothers, etc make any meaningful impression this season?

Can Divizioso and Vinales come good again?

And incase anyone has forgotten because there wasn't much press, Rossi has retired.

Plus we'll be watching the new rookies such as Gardener, Binder, and Fernandez moving to the premier class and how they handle the step up, expectation and pressure.

So many questions?
So many possible scenario's.
So much to look forward to.

Till next season gentlemen...

How good is gaming now?
Thought it was real...

Wow ! You sure that isn't real ?
I'm rooting for Danilo....in the Dakar.
Its time for Miller to produce good results on Sunday I love the guy but hex
just been too inconsistent. I think Pecco has a real shot at the title.
Marc has still got problems with his eyes. Apparently one of the nerves that moves
his right eyeball is paralyzed. Needed surgery last time this happened. I think Quatararo
isn't too thrilled with the new bike so he's going to have to ride his ass off.
Looking forward to seeing how Remy and Raul get on with the KTM

My beginning happens the first two-three races in. Poor Miller. His talent is up against his own head game. He needs Crutch's wife in the pits with Jack. I'd like to see that performance clause countdown. Other than that, it's the fresh round of riders proving themselves. The rookies no longer rookies and that change coming thru later in the year.

For sure a movie time story for Miller. Tragedy to I can't believe he took away the whole prize?

https://the-race.com/motogp/we-rank-the-2022-motogp-line-ups-from-worst-to-best/

My potential picks for the season are Basti and Morbi. MM as the darkhorse. I'm going for a year out and maybe 99% healed for Morbi. Choosing him to be just as fast as before, just to see if he has that comeback ability. Basti is on a fresh bike more or less, and let's see if he will outride it like the pile of trash he was on last year. And MM now replaces the old man's seat and won't count him out and get bit like I did Rossi.

Yeah, eyes on Miller (can he reach expectations), Basti (one of the hot favorites for the 2022 title), Qman (can he back up with the new hot competition), Marquez (who the fuck knows what the hell is going on there?), and the new Rookie's...

and won't count him out and get bit like I did Rossi.

What?
The fork was in Rossi at least 2 years ago.
You must have dreamed that you were bit!

And the 2022 season start is already getting near...

Only way I'd stick the neck out is to win Texas one more time. Doubt it that will be broken for awhile. He's got one more try at it, and winning the big one without a win can be done with this kid. Career ending or contract played out... It's all about beating himself.

Season playing out for me is Miller and his assumed clause, and MM and that question. Maybe Pecco for constancy, but the rest of the field may be a rotation of; 'it was your day.' Too hard to pick without MM and his 1-2 dominance at the podium.

The pecking order should be interesting between riders and bikes this year. What's with Honda chassis change eating the front end, and is suppose to steer without hitting the deck so much?

< My hard laugh

Lettuce not forget the almost does not count, and was it just last year was the almost? The fork if I remember, but there was an almost so close. Cough it up, yes or no?

It's the same game with multi champs... something about those aliens. More like calling Marc 'The Deck' this year and start counting.

Cough it up, yes or no?

Hub, please.
Almost, maybe, so close, could have been, should have been, might have been!
Rossi was a liability to his team for the last 2 years, maybe more.
He took up a spot that a young and up and coming talent could have had, and tainted his legacy with his awful results and also by staying in the game too long.
You don't have to agree with me. Just look at his overall results over this period.
Yes, I am a bias non fan of Valentino Rossi after what he did in 2015.
But I'd be very happy for anyone to prove me wrong...

Yannih, please, is that all you got? LOL

Rossi will be talked about until his fans die off. 20yrs later, there will be some Rossi down the road nipping at his records. I'm really not a fan per say. I'm past that hero shit once that closet opens up. I don't want to be caught throwing the Cosby types on a pedestal.

Actually, I enjoyed the blocking and payback when that was going on. The has-been vs the up and comer. How come Rossi walks away without being hurt, staying in shape at his own track, and MM goes out and hits the deck. I doubt Rossi backed off in practice on the dirt.

Luck? Experience? Gifted? Or just one of those aliens like Ago and his wins. Still had to stay upright all those times. Do I put MM in that group?

It's all I need Hub.
You think it's okay for any motorcycle racer to kick a competitor off their bike at any time no matter who he is?
How quickly everyone forgets.
I don't.

How come Rossi walks away without being hurt, staying in shape at his own track, and MM goes out and hits the deck.

Because Rossi knew he was uncompetitive, finished, and didn't want to get hurt in the last few races of his career.
Marquez still had the passion for a man at the top his game and was giving 110% unlike Rossi who hadn't done that for a quite a while.

I could wade back into this dispute but, since I see no upside, ill just keep my mouf shut.
On a related note, it looks like Marc's eyeball problem has resolved itself, which is good news.
But I do hope he's able to balance his ambition with his good sense. I don't want to see anymore
great riders permanently injured or worse.

Yeah Mad, I'm just ragging on yanni because Rossi was a thinking rider way back. Blocking techniques, head game playing with other riders. The full package... yeah right, I'm wrong.

Been watching those Rossi Dorna videos. I liked the one about winning first time out on the yammie. Wins the race and shoves it up Honda's ass.

Well Yannih, you already know my position on Vale. A legend along with others like Lawson,
King Kenny and Doohan. I still don't think he kicked Marquez off the track. Ill admit that
both riders lost their freaking marbles that season.
I got my copy of Motocourse and there's a nice tribute to Rossi in there. He's going to be missed
This year I'm rooting for Miller and Remy. Does that make me an honorary Australian ???
My heart surgery is tomorrow so you may not hear from me for a few days. Ill try to post as
soon as I can.

Been watching those Rossi Dorna videos. I liked the one about winning first time out on the yammie. Wins the race and shoves it up Honda's ass.

Mmmmm.
As Rossi said, "It's the rider and not the bike!".
And he showed all by "shoving" hard to competitor manufacturers on the yammie.

Question.
By that same rational who's ass did Rossi shove it up when he was on the Ducati?
Answer.
He walked very gingery for all of 2011-2012...

Come on Mad.
Don't be shy.
Get in son!

Ah, just saw you did exactly that before I posted.

A legend along with others like Lawson, King Kenny and Doohan.

Completely agree.

I still don't think he kicked Marquez off the track.

Completely disagree.
You and I must be watching different footage of the event.

He's going to be missed

Completely agree. Strangely that includes me.

This year I'm rooting for Miller and Remy. Does that make me an honorary Australian ???

Sorry mate. No.
The only way is to root for Miller and Remy and send a picture of you drinking Victoria Bitter!

My heart surgery is tomorrow so you may not hear from me for a few days.

Mate, my / our thoughts are with you.
Good luck, go hard on the recovery and looking forward to your first return post...

Interesting round. Crutch needs to have to wife there for Miller.

<<< Duc pit no doubt. Miller, what? Basti 4th and first time on the track. Man, it's going to be some crazy shit going on this year. Don't know if heads will roll, riders come flying off their seats midyear and park the bike, oh the drama.

Just watched Day 1 at Sepang. Once again we're left wondering, "Does Aprilia finally have their shit together ???"
1-2 on day 1. Honda also came out with a brand new bike and Marc says his eyes are good and his arm is stronger. Dude still falls off though. Twice on Day 1
Still waiting to see how it shakes out. Of course we may have another start of the season with Vinales winning the GP Practice Championship.

Quote from another forum I'm trying to get booted off... "Ask Maverick Vinales how much his topping pre-season testing mattered at the end of each season for the past 3 or 4 years."

Too funny: "Of course we may have another start of the season with Vinales winning the GP Practice Championship."

Bad memory on my end and had no clue Mav was a top 'pre-season' contender. I more expect he does the 'In your face' like Rossi did to Honda swapping to yammie. The better insult would be to win it all this year.

Apart from the obvious injury issues, I now always seem to hold my breath on whether he will stay on board or not.
Training, testing, practice or races.

He still has supreme talent, but the consistency seems to have dropped.
Can he come back for another Championship or two?
Time will tell...

Hub, the reason you have little chance of being booted off any forum is because most including myself have very little idea of deciphering what you are saying!

But if you are really keen, there are others here who have been supremely successful at that endeavor who could no doubt assist you with their natural ability in this area...
