Hello all, my dream was to have some day ZX-14 and i'm close to this but i'm bit scared right now because i don't know if I will can handle it. I have experience on 125 and GS500 and I'm thinking does it a good idea or should I take something between ?

Motorcycle windscreens for KAWASAKI ZX-14R from MotorcycleScreens.eu have best quality, visibility and clarity. Probably best value for money !!! https://www.motorcyclescreens.eu/motorcycle-windscreens-windshields-kawasaki/202-touring-windscreen-windshield-kawasaki-zx-14-r-zzr-1400

Ah no. If you have the brain fixed to the throttle, this bike will ride as slow as a moped, or beat anything out in the streets of your town. So basically it's a fallacy. You can jump on any bike once you have the hands/feet/brain in gear.

The ZX14 has some of the best slow speed manners of any bike made. It is heavy though.
As long as you stay aware of that, and have good control of your right wrist, you should be fine.

The bike has a low power mode, ABS and three levels of traction control. You can set it up to be mild mannered and increase it's aggressiveness as you become more familiar with the bike.

Any bike can kill you quite easily. You are the bikes' most effective safety feature...

Although motorcycles have broken my bones, they have greatly improved my quality of life. A fair trade...

I agree 100% with HUb.It's just a bike, like any other.Whatever you put in throttlewise and all,it'll do what ya enter.May as well get the best...start there. You won't need to replace it in 2 months;)

The throttle on these is so smooth and controllable you've really nothing to be afraid of.Respect...yep.FEAR...no way.Ditch the fear. It'll get ya hurt.

I agree with the notion that its all about your wrist.. now with that being said if you can't control your wrist and wind up becoming a Max Wrist then all bets are off and you'll prob dump it sooner than later. But if you can control your wrist and learn the characteristics of the bike you'll be fine. My first streetbike after years on dirtbikes was a Ninja ZX11 back in 1995. I weighed 160 at the time and was in my early 20's and did fine. I say get the 14R and if you're in your early 20's come back later in life after you do the whole cruiser thing like i did and hop back on whatever is the fastest ride in the future and rock that mid-life crisis :)

RE: newbie Throttle control ..

How I taught myself throttle control..About 17 yrs or so ago, I took my ZRX1200 from roughly 120 RWHP to abuot 195 with the aid of a turbo.... Because of all the " you will kill yourself" comments, I figured a way to handle the obscene power arrived when boost built., I ran down the road at 55/60 mph which, in 5th gear ( all the ZRX had was five gears) was just nudging the 1 pound boost marker. After becoming accustomedto the feel of applying full throttle in 5th, I began the same thing in 4th and then 3rd,. By the time I had grown accustomed to 3rd gear, I pretty much knew full well what teh bike was going to do at most any given time/throttle.
This could be applied by looking a ZX14 dyno chart and using the torquecurve and rpms as the equivalent to 1 pound of boost..or your starting point for going full throttle.. Akltho I would not do this exercise in 1st or 2nd until i was positive I could handle the response.
In the above, I did not WHACK the throttle open but gave it just a lil more fuel than it could handle, Once you try it m it will make sense..

Anyway , that was the way I learned..

17 years ago is not someone you take to heart. chrly is more the rare, gifted rider that time means nothing. We are average here and j99 is more the lesson learned without experience it. Yes, you can never have a crash in a riding career, but you want to feel the fear in this bike to first appreciate it to get you there, and respect the time it takes to get close to the chrly and smoke [other member] at that clutch lever on the one side, the brain in the middle, and the throttle side that is more nurtured in decades.

I have a Gen 1 and it is very safe. It was my first sport bike. The power increased abruptly at about 3000 rpm but that has been smoothed out through tuning. Other than that, the power delivery is smooth. The bike doesn't wheelie unless I really try to make it do that. It takes off gently if you use common sense. The thing that a lot of people say is dangerous is that you can be going very fast and you might not notice because the bike doesn't feel like it's working too hard.
