Slipping The Clutch
10/06/13 1:55 PM

The first time I rode a fast bike, it felt natural to slip the clutch to control spin and lift. I think it was an early 90's zx7. I'm 54 and been riding 44. I'm on my second zx14. I use my bike to commute 60 miles each way, usually 6 days/week. I do at least 800 miles/week on my 14.

I usually stay legal but push the limit by leaving a light and be going the limit before I get 1/2 way across the intersection. The front wheel does not perceivabley come off the ground and no rear wheel spin. I launch this beast repeatedly. I did test and tune @ Little River Drag near Temple with my first 14. There was only one other riding a 1000gixer that could control like me.

I've read about clutch particles restricting oil passages. Brock's claims it is imperative to update PP springs, steels,...

The first pic is of the clutch engaged, the second is with the lever pulled fully. The clutch has never slipped when fully engaged. What do I look for?

The only thing more exhilarating than riding one of these beasts, is sex..
