Has anyone done this? Are there any issues I should expect or will it be as simple as every other bike I have done this to?

Before you ask I want the shortest wheelbase possible for the track. Also those sweet wheelies will be easier ;)

Will +1 on the rear fit on the stock chain? That would be the easiest, i'd think about doing that.

i'd also wonder if it effect chain adjustment at all

+1 rear sprocket might move the axle forward but at the cost of putting even more torque to the pavement. The comment about making wheelies easier was sarcastic btw.

Darkarcher recently wanted to get the most wheelbase. Removing 1 link will move your tire up ~2 notches.

When I replace my chain I'll most likely do this.

Forgot to consider the added height of the 200/55. Will need to do a few tests with it tomorrow to confirm it fits that far forward.

Sweet, I'll put a 43 tooth on before I even ride my new bike so it can all wear together. How would I be messing with Kawasaki's base setting there?

Get more opinions. You may need to have some more chain stretch if the bike is new. I know this topic has come up in threads before.

Rook, I see you have a slick on your bike. Careful with the clearance. I had one on my 06 14. I took it to the dragstrip and it would not pull at all on top. I was running 9.9's - 10.2's. I found out the slick was ballooning at higher speeds and rubbing on the front of the swingarm. I put a longer chain on the bike which gave the tire all kinds of clearance and I ran 9.20's. Big difference, but dumb on my part for not thinking of this before. The difference here, though, is that you have the rounded slick and I don't think they balloon up, at least not much. I had the flat slick which grows considerably while going down the track.

Wow! Never thought of that. I'd be surprized if the tire could grow an eighth inch but you never know. Heat and centrifugal force might do it. I'll have to keep an eye on the swingarm. Thanks.

From my testing height is where its at if you want turn in. Got to jack up that rear or drop the front. Just a quarter inch makes a big difference. Takes it from a turd to a liter bike. Want a twitchy 600? go another quarter. That lightweight galfer seems to help as well on the rear.

Might be adjusting the Ohlins shock up to max height soon. Really though, I think the tire alone is as much as I can use. ...but no reason not to try it all!

I think you would have the stutter if you went +1 unless you send the ECU to Guhl for a fix. Approved gearings I have heard of for non studder are down on the rear any amount, 16/63, and 17/45. Maybe others know of more. So go up two if you need to go up. If you want to know how far forward its going to move you it will not be much if anything. One tooth is 2/10th of an inch sprocket diameter to be exact. So less than a quarter inch forward for sure.

I plan on having Ivan flash it for me, but sounds like I won't be able to have fully functional TC and change the gearing no matter what, right?

Doing some research and talking to more than one track suspension guru they all said decreasing the wheelbase would increase the swingarm angle. Increasing the swingarm angle makes the rear tire loose grip because the weight shifts forward and that makes a spinning rear tire much more likely. I know all about spinning tires on exit so I am going to not add to that and make it possible anywhere else.

agree with fantastic unless you lowered the bike also which would actually increase the lbs per square inch on the tire. Lowering is the wrong word because if you notice the swingarm runs downhill so by "lowering" you are bringing it back to stock height. Either way these are not big differences.

Auron, I dont see any reason why your TC would not work normally. Why do you think that?
