So, after hitting some bigger sized rocks on two recent rides I decided to mount a steering damper. Wasn't too excited about the cost of some options out there so I decided to give Amazon and a cheaper China product a shot. $45 for the damper and $27 for the Pro-Tek 50mm fork tube bracket.
Couldn't find any aluminum tubing I liked local for the uprights so 2" redi-rod connectors will do for now. I also drilled and tapped the mounting hole for the tank cover to fit the M8 bolt. Lot's of aluminum in there to work with and it's solid. Going to be changing out the black M8x70mm bolts for SS one's as soon as I can find them.
So far the darn thing does what I expected and was surprised at the quality of the Chinese damper. Time will tell of course.
Full lock to lock. Plenty of room.
