yesterday was able to throw on a 16T sprocket on the 14R. The bike is completely stock with 7600 miles on it. Well I took it out and noticed right away that around 1800rpm to 2500rpm give or take afew that the bike just ran like shit.

Now you can blast thru this RPM ranger and probably not notice anything if your racing, but say you get behind a car that takes the same turn as you on a slide grade going uphill... Well the bike just wants to buck you off. I would consider it unsafe it can be so bad. Now of course if theres no traffic where you live or you use the bike for drag racing then theres a damn good chance you wont notice it.

Be warned tho if you are pulling a grade, slow traffic where your forced to follow without the option of passing then you will most likely feel and hear the bike surge, buck or whatever else you want to call it.

Im throwing the bike back on the lift and going back to the stock 17. This is clearly one of those mods that ruins the smoothness of the 14R and in some situations I consider it dangerous.

I wanted to see it for myself and I have. Believe me if your bike has the issue after replacing the sprocket you will know it.

Creeps.

The fix is simple. I had the same thing to fix it go up 1tooth on the rear sprocket and it balances it right out. I tried to tell them that on bikeland but i was kicked out. But i found the fix. The ecu needs the rear sprocket raised one tooth to balance it out and read it right. When i went down one up front it would stumble down low. Removed it and went more teeth in the rear and it ran like shit at four grand. Keep the sprocket in the back raised one and lowered the front again and perfect. Try it out. People like smokin say their bike runs fine because it does because they have lowered in tbe front AND raised in the back. Try it you'll see.

Then that would be like my 09.16/43.Right?I love it on my 09 just screams.I hate changing that sprocket.Had to buy a new 1/2 Kobalt inpact gun with 700ft lbs in reverse. It was tough. That is strange how it's so out of balance but I believe it.

NOT true gixxerjohn, quote from smokin
I'm 16 / 44 now .. Had run 16/ 43 , 42, 41, stock and 17/41 40 and 39 "and never had this happen to my bike ever"

btw you were kicked off of bikeland because you posted you were there to tick people off and ruin the site,

it appears to be a bike by bike issue. I'm running 17-51 no problem

wee
