CSX4350: Thanks for the instructions on the settings; of course I did find it in the manual (always a last resort)!

I gotta think Hub is right on this cooling issue. I am not anticipating any problems in hot weather here in hot and humid Illinois. The old 14 got warm and fried my legs but never really over heated even on a near hundred degree day and 80 to 90% humidity. The R is NOT keeping my legs warm on these cold days like the old 14 did! So I expect summer riding will be more comfortable. Double fans, air flow, oil spray, all should handle the heat with no problem, especially with hot air being better routed out of the engine bay. Heat from the engine used to find its way up to the triple clamp and heat up my Garmin noticeably and even uncomfortably to the touch; I suspect that is also a thing of the past on the R.

I got about 32-33 average in the first 100 miles and just now I am seeing 40mpg+ while keeping it in the break-in rpm range or nearly so,

No riding for a few days for me at least; 3inches of snow has been upgraded to maybe 9!

It's been relatively cold here 40's and never while riding has the temp been over 160F unless at a stop. This is the time of year you wish the bike would throw off a little heat just to keep warm. I dumped my oil at 250 miles and am running Mobil 1 4T. The bike feels much smoother shifting and even quieter. I really enjoy riding this bike so much I jump on it every chance I get. You are right though my Ducati 1198 and S1000rr run so much hotter in comparison especially when you are at a stop light or in slow traffic.
