bike drifting
01/21/15 10:45 PM

Somehow I think the 14 is not going to work for this.

sure he could do that on a 14, he'd just would crash more.

I saw a different drifting video a couple years back and then the making of. that guy dropped the bike a lot. They just didn't show that in the video.

That is cool. The stunts I was never impressed with, though . Too Kiddie.imo
But the drifting. Killer!

I think the motogp riders drift a bit in some of the corners. And At those motogp speeds, it's quite the display of skill.

Yeah and he was almost wearing proper Gixxer gear. He had the short gloves and the tennies, but was missing the Purple mohawk on the helmet, the wife beater, and the ICON vest. Bro....

Let's say this. A rider doing that doesn't really have balls until they're doing it on a 14.

Love that! I would never buy any gear from ICON no matter how good it was because of their support and marketing to what I refer to as the Sportbike Counter Culture. Stunting on highways and blocking highways in and around cities with 100+ riders is not my idea the sport.

Maybe that's exactly why you should buy ICON. People see me blazing my ICON gear like a fairly level headed rider around town. When they don't see me, I'm doing what ICON advertises to.

I thought the drift vid was first class. The skill is in its execution without having to "drop the bike." Young guy on a "jinxer" does impress. Good for him even if his rear sprocket is the size of my 22 inch truck rims!

Hey now, I also have an Icon field armor vest/back protector. I wear it under my Scorpion perforated leather jacket after removing the flimsy back protector.
That's one tough nut to crack.

If you put a pizza size rear sprocket on the 14 it would drift I bet. It would also eat rear tires because its a little porkier than a GSXR. Cool video.

I have icon jacket, helmet and gloves

Love em

But I do see the stunting on public roads as BS that should be prosecuted. It endangers several lives at once. Wreckless juvenile mentality.

Ever been to or saw clips of Ride of the Century in St Louis?

As for insanity on public roads, how do you feel about abandoned highways and farm concession and side roads. All public but much like my personal play ground.

On isolated roads and As long as no innocent drivers are at risk, its not a big deal to me.

I try to get "freaky" when the roads don't involve innocent operators, or major road ways with other cars. But I think we are all guilty of rolling along minding our own business and fully eating and putting in their place the asshat in the Mustang, or Busa.

Yes, we have! When some would- be king feels he's ready to challenge the alpha male of the street, our mighty 14, you have to administer a dose of reality. Lol

But I've been in the middle of a big pack of stunt riders in heavy traffic on major interstates at highway speed. I think the public road stunting is what was referred to earlier in this thread regarding icons marketing angle

From what I can tell their marketing is from a apocalyptic world, urban battle for survival theme with their products helping you to stay alive. Lol

Kinda cool, I guess.
