Just a word of caution if you buy the delkovic's they aren't actually for the 2012. the picture is of the 18" ones (I think). they say they dont have 2012 slip ons last time I checked, but the ones from the 2011 may work, I dont know for sure ....

I don't think that yoshi's are quiet, the stock ones run at 91db yoshi's are around 100db true Moto GP sound, small pipes and amazingly light, the Akrapovic are great too just pricy, quieter than yoshi's but still a nice deep raspier tone they come with a removable CAT and baffles which also increase their noise if you don't fit them.

I'm thinking about some M4's. I heard them on a new ZX-14 today, real deep throaty sound out of a sort of megaphone looking exhaust. Real nice and around $600 or so isn't bad either.

How about TiForce...had a set on my 07...very nice...bark on throttle up.....mellow on the low down.Tad spendy if I recall...but great slip-ons.

Remember...IF you go with a full system...you may very well have to add a powercommander or something. That could be another 300 bucks...but the full is the way to go if ya want the whole potential.

The full Brocks I had on my 2012....unnecessary IMO.Could have saved the money...that bike didn't need any more kick!Or the PCV for that matter....it also didn't need that Guhl Flashed ECU either....although the timing 'adjustment' he did was a nice little add on.

I got a fairly nice thrust gain by adding a 43 to the rear...that went very nicely.Although some guys said their engines had some rpm issues and power problems with that 43 gearing(on the 2012's)...I never experienced that.Mine ran fine in all rpm's.With or without the KTRC activated.

Yea mine seems to have plenty of thrust with the slip ons and the P1X inserts, seems like the inserts actually helped with the low end, versus the straight through slip on, don't know if that old back pressure thing is a myth or not, but seems like the low end improved, and its still got everything on top too ! if I lost a couple ponies, I sure cant feel the difference !

I reckon if ya want a full on drag bike...get the works...otherwise...enjoy.This bike really is quite powerful with just slip-ons.Maybe not as 'sharp' as something weighing a lot less...but plenty big power.

Just read the December Issue of Motorcyclist "Doin' Time" section; Dave Sonsky is doing a longer term test on the ZX14R.

He installed the Two Brothers exhaust and reports that the bike lost 31 lbs of unnecessary weight and gained several hp (that was last month and I don't remember the hp gain but maybe around 5 ?)

This month he sought to quiet them down at cruising speed. P1X Powertips cut almost 5db off the "noise" but took 3 hp off the power gain.
P1 Powertips cut only about 3 db off the noise (still substantial quieting) but actually increased power again by 1.3 hp. They were also listed at $30 each; $5 cheaper than the P1X versions.

Power was measured at peak on their dyno test and db was measured at 50000 rpm.

P1 endcaps would seem optimal to me! He had no trouble with the sound level with NO tips around town and only grew annoyed at cruise rpm.

Think I'll mount the Two Bro's slip-on cans next spring and opt for the P1 Powertips; deep mellow sound, even more hp gain than pipes alone but less decibels at fast cruise rpm! I think they look great in AL or Carbon to boot and I can gain 31 lbs on my high protein diet without adding weight to my ride. LOL.

I just hope that the peeps in the cage will be able to hear me coming and get out of my way when I'm cruising quietly in 5th or 6th at 5,000 rpm (90+ mph?).

The P1X is a little quite, but I did notice some better low end response, and almost no decel poping, I ordered a set of the P1 that have not gotten here, if they seem to keep the low end and the bike doesnt pop, I will keep them on, quess I could sell the P1X or maybe return it, since it still looks new ? will let you know how the P1 is when it gets here

I think the weight saving is a typo, or just bad info. I have the TBR carbon slip ons. I weighed them with a digital scale, and compared to the stock cans, there was a 21 lb. weight saving. Perhaps they were thinking full system? Anyone else check the weight? BTW, the TBR website mentions a 20 lb. weight saving.

I've had the TB carbon blacks on since breakin. I use the P1 tips most of the time. Helps to whisper jet out of the neighborhood. Reduces 3-4 db according to TB. I notice a slight harmonic inbalance when at low rpm's, 2-3k while in the neighborhood resulting in a buzz even through my arai. Heres what the tips look like from behind. All in all, love the deep growl.

The numerous owner comments I've read appear to say that the Yoshi R-77's are fairly quiet and the TB's are fairly loud. Then again, loud is in the ear of the beholder.

After several years of living with D&D's (indecently loud), and Akrapovic's ( nice loud ) I'm now more in the mood for some good looking CF cans that are fairly quiet.

Running D&D's on my Sprint for several years has also forced me to become an earplug expert. I recently removed the D&D's and went back to stock for some well deserved relative quiet

I plan to install Yoshimura slip-ons this winter on the ZedX14 unless I come into enough cash for the Akrapovics.

Pic during D&D install ... Looks like something out of a Mad Max movie !

Fortunately for me, american harley motocops don't seem too concerned about the noise, or the bicycle and roller-skis.
