'06 ZX14 Cat Converter
07/22/09 8:43 AM

Can anyone tell me if the '06 model has a cat converter in the system, and if so, where? Stock system. I want to weld in a Oxygen Sensor bung and want to make sure it is placed correctly. The guy who is going to do the dyno has asked for me to get it fitted before I get there. Bear in mind that this is an Australian model so there may be differences due to legislation etc. Someone may know but I can't find anything in the manual. If all else fails, I'll call the dealer. Thankyou.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy!

If the Australian model's are like the U.S, ones, they are in the cans. Not a sure check but if your cans get really fracking hot I'd say it has the cats as well.

I have an exhaust vid showing the neck sizes for the 3rd cat. What you need to do is maybe weld the bung in between the collector [so you have all 4 readings in the neck] and you are forward of the ball that connects the two rear mid pipe/mufflers.

So, that is where I would set my 02 on the early thinner neck header is the 02 is in the middle of the neck reading the 4 wind chimes.

Thanks Philhnnss, Hub,

Seems like I'm OK with this model (cats in the cans for sure) and will put it where you suggest Hub. Makes perfect sense. Cheers.
