Well TC works..
06/27/14 5:49 AM

Gotta say i hated the fact that there making all these bikes with electronic helpers!
Well I just ate those words forever!
TC saved my ass last night!!
Took off fast but not hard , and the rear decided to kick out but before I reacted the bike bogged ass end came back aligned perfectly with the rest of bike and boom power was back shit was instant! I'm shocked as I didn't expect it to work like that but I sure GLAD it did as I don't think I would've corrected that and I'm 90% sure I would've hit asphalt !!!
WOW!

when it happens it happens. Good to hear the electronics saved ya. I wasn't so keen on it at first either. I wonder how it works in cornering. Seems like it could solve one problem and cause another. Does it read traction every few milliseconds? Will it restore power to normal quick enough? Does it cut all power or does it sense the optimal power reduction?

There are percentage of slip algorithms for each mode of traction control. It intervenes less aggressively Dependant upon mode selected. And as it uses ignition and fuel to control wheelspin, those maps can be adjusted to affect how TC intervenes. When TC is on, it is watching wheelspin constantly for variations.

But how does it know when the wheel is spinning? What does it compare against to determine 'spinning' and 'not spinning'?

OP what level did you have your TC set on?

You have a front wheel speed sensor, and a rear wheel speed sensor. It knows the rear wheel is spinning because it compares the two rates of rotation.

Rook, if you move a rotor in a stator, an ever so slight of a move will cause electricity or a measured wave. There is this square wave and when it's off it reads 0. When the wave occurs, there is a time that wave peaks and ends like an ocean wave think. That wave time is 1 or stays on in the calculation of things vs. Time.

Those 2 tone wheels are phased in to each other. If one moves ever so slight, as in the stator moves even a C-hair of a move, imagine we cut that hair in the millionths of thicknesses. That still is a wave length of gap. That still made a number occur, because we can measure it in milliseconds and such.

We know electricity moves at the speed of light, so to calc a 30-40mph slip of that phasing ever so C-haired, the calc is 671 million mph or the speed of light, the calc happened that fast. By the time you react, the calc of that milli-phasing out of the tone for tone sync, the ign cut to retard so there is less time to burn the gas as opposed to more advanced; the spark may drop one cylinder; the milli may change in the injector opening to cut fuel down.

Those 3 interventions are happening so fast, you can feel it, hear it, you are stuck in formula against the microprocessor cutting things on/off it's that simple is man working with the speed of light and manipulates it to an assavingeekeystroke.

The KTRC is also predictive to an extent.

The sensors in the wheels must be ultra sensitive. It reacts so quickly and from what must be only a slight variation in wheel speeds

I think its incredible technology.

Makes you wonder what they'll type of new rider aids they will invent in the years to come

I now see how beneficial the Ktrc could be for hard/fast cornering.

I normally ride in off mode, but no more. Level 2 should be best for cornering I would think. I'll experiment with it

These days motorcycle electronic issues are rare, but in the future, diagnosing Motorcycle Electronic Nanny Aid issues should be fun, lol

The statement that KTRC is predictive is intriguing to me. Wouldn't take but a bit of math behind the data collection for that to happen. Kind of a cool thing. I ride in mode 1, mostly.
