Summer's half gone but the best is yet to come!

I swear off all wrenching projects next winter. They go on for ever and the bike sits unridden while I spend the good weather continuing to wrench. had enough.

Well I got my ECU back and installed. Have to say it is a bitch getting that thing in and outta this girl... So I get it in and go for a pretty good ride.....at first I was like shit! I may have had a Don go too much with her. I was so used to having to barely twist the throttle and even at that getting damn near thrown off it wasn't even funny. Honestly it was just too much. But now I have the same power or even. Little more because Don flashed her with some of the new timing maps he did for Brock which is supposed to make about 8 to 10HP more...:). Anyways now you can really ride the bike like you should. I can have her to the edge of lossing grip dragging a knee and not be concerned when I have to get back on the gas. I will it takes a little getting used to because now she doesn't feel like an animal unless your WOT like it should. Now I'm wondering if I had Don do a little more than I should have but I don't think so because if I want crazy I just have to twist the grip a little more......

If you like to ride on the edge this rap map of the throttle is the way to go. It makes her feel more like she did when she was stock as far as throttle transition.

Just be careful Some.she's only got 5-6 inches of contact patch!Happy for ya...I'm good with my Guhl flash.PLENTY enough for this old cadger;)

I don't think I need any more HP or torque.Recently got another speeding ticket.Not so good.I mean...I wasn't going koo koo crazy or anything,but twice the limit is not so great.Hard to keep this bike 'tamed';)

Grn, you just take it in stride. How fast? Are we talking 50 in a 25 or 80 in a 40? Hope you had some points regerated from the last one. WI takes 2 years for them to come back.

Any ticket Lawyers up North? Saved my ass - cost a lot but I was facing misdemeanor reckless for way way over 55 and the ticket lawyer ended up getting it all dismissed. I used up all of my speeder luck for a long time.

80 in a 45 is so damn easy to do. Yech, I do that all the time. ...not that I'm saying everyone should do that because well, then these things happen. Reminds me of my big ticket. I was doing 90-100mph for miles and miles miles and miles at a time and also cruising the expressway like that every day. Finally got busted. After that, it was either slow the fuck down or else except that I was going to have to run. I don't think you'll push your luck that far. I sure didn't. Worse case scenario here, Grn: you get your license suspended for a few months. It's up to you if you sneak out on a little run now and then but make it legal if you do. A year passes and you'll be going fast and be more crafty about it. There's never any guaranteed way to avoid the law no matter how you choose to speed. It's just as much a game of "how often can I afford to get a ticket" as it is "how fast can I go." You just have a long time to wait befpre you can get ANY more tickets. Cheer up buddy. You'll enjoy those bikes again soon. We're here for ya. Hahah--people who aren't into high performance vehicles just don't get what a big deal this is but I do.

Thanks Rook for the pep talk.No,I could never run.Always have to be 'responsible' for my actions...even if it means losing some things sometimes.That's just the way I am.I have no desire to disrespect LEO.No matter if there are some bad apples out there.Hell...I'm no angel.I did it...now I HAVE to straighten up.I can't keep deluding myself into thinking "I can do this"."Safe speeding" or not...it's still breakin the law.Going crazy on my bike is NOT what I really want to do.I just want to enjoy it while I can.My speeding days are over I think.Hopefully.Gonna try anyway.

I was actually doing pretty good with just riding a little above the limit...it's 10 over here...so they normally won't bother ya if yer in that window.Maybe a warning...but that's about it.Doing what I was is not a catch and release policy here anymore.It used to be...but not now.

Went on a bunch of rides before this...and maintained.It wasn't so bad.Should have stuck to that.

yes, my speeding days are over....I think. hehe- I know you added that "I think" on there after thinking it over a second or two! You know you'll go fast again because that's what you enjoy about riding. I went slow for an entire year and I was awful careful about doing triple digits for about three years. I did get right back on and ride the twisties the very day after my 110 mph ticket but even that was more low key then usual. I spent a lot more time wrenching.

Just to clarify, the 80 mph in a 45 is more or less a "must" for all but the slowest sport riding I ever do. That's why I said "I do that all the time." I hope you didn't think I meant to say there's something wrong if you got busted for doing the same. If you got nailed doing it, I sure could, too. I think of the corners marked 25-35 and I am going into them at 60 and doing about 80 as I come out. If a cop sees that, there's some kind of ticket waiting to happen.

I just googled Montana track days and came across some kind of car track days near Helena. Maybe they have MC track days.

IDK about Montana track days...maybe I could look into something like that.Far as I know...there's no biking tracks in Montana.Honestly,I know I'll go fast again.I just need to watch what's happening around me better.These bikes are virtually impossible to keep reined in when that sweet curve rolls up.

Yeah that is preposterous. I'd still ride but the 14 would become a garage ornament for the most part. I'd have to save up to do some racing events but to keep to the speed limit on the street all the time for ever, no way that's ever going to happen.

Sorry about the ticket GRN. That is why I never leave home without my trusty V1 Radar Detector. It has saved me many times. I just notice that I am much more aware of my surroundings when using it.

Yeah...I hear ya...but it gives me false(?)sense of 'security'.Took it off actually.I shouldn't be riding like a maniac out there.There's plenty of places to go fast.I just need to go easier,and open her up where I can SEE there's no cages coming at me.I mean,if yer doing the speed limit or a bit above...(I)won't get stopped.I know that.They give us an 11 mph over grace speed.That's fine for tooling the hwys where there's traffic.I'm good with that.

It was bound to catch up to me.
