17/43 will give you ratio of 2.53 versus 16/42 with a gear ratio of 2.69 .The only gearing that matches or gives you a tiny edge on a guy that has installed 16 tooth front is 17/44. This will give your bike a gear ratio of 2.59 compares to his 16/41 which = 2.56. The 16/42 is a big change. Sounds like it could be fun.I have not made it down to the beloved 16/43.... YET. I recomend try the 43 in the back(the bike should have come this way).If you like it, all you will have to buy is the 16F.

Hey Reeves-I think you can find these on "gearingcommander" website-gives all the ratios for any configuration,as well as speed in each gear and top speed possible in 6th at "custom" RPM's.Only thing it DOESN'T give-seat of the pants experience.Guess ya gotta kind of figure out how these "might" feel(helped by some real world experimentation).I've got the 16T on my front,42 rear-it does have get up and go-much better than stock(17/41).I've got a 43 Driven coming tomorrow-probably put her on there just to see how it feels.(also have 4 degree advance,PCIII and secondaries removed-stock mufflers and BMC air filter). She accelerates quite quickly!! Reevesman-I think Romans meant Kawasaki should have designed it with the 43 rear stock Thanks Roman for the info!!

Gearing commander is also a great one. This one is also great. GEARING

Fast and easy. Please keep in mind that chain stretch is important for the 43R install . Your pointer must be at least on the third bar for this gear to fit. Cheers. Your going to love it .

Thanks Romans-I was wondering IF that gear was gonna fit.-It's just a tad under three-do you think it'll go?Have a 16 front on there now.

When the pointer is on the third bar you will have only 1/32 of play. To answer the question, I'm thinking no. But what is a "tad" if it's a 1/32 it will be a tight fit. I hope this helps. Cheers.

Thanks Romans-a tad-well,maybe 1-2 mm's?I'm gonna wait for now-no rush.(it's just shy of the third hash mark).I'm curious though-you know, when you sit on the bike, does the chain get tighter?I noticed something like that? And if so,what about when you're riding and going over bumps and dips. Can that damage a chain?(assuming it's adjusted"too tight").Thanks-have fun today-ride safe!!!

thanks for the chart romans!

16/40 is still going to be more aggressive than stock gearing. the full system and the 16/40 is probably going to do it for me. if i get crazy i may put the 44 tooth on later.

i haven't heard of it damaging the chain but i've heard it will eat the teeth quicker.

I'm sorry guys ...The 1/32 of play I am talking about is the room you have to slide the axle back in with the adjusters in tight. This allows for Proper chain slack.
