Hi guys...long time no see ;)
06/03/09 7:00 PM

The boards looking good I'm in the process of finishing up the turbo install on my 14......its coming along well, nice kit and I think its gonna run great (fingers crossed) Its good to see alot of the other refugees still here When I pulled off the exhaust system I was suprised how heavy just the header alone was. Its a nice free-flowing design for a stocker...at least the 06-07's....but its heavy. I could see a full system dropping alot of weight off the bike I recently installed a yosh 4-2-1 full system on my busa.....it gave it a big hit of power at 5 grand and up, but I did lose a noticeable amount of low end. Thats one area the dual stock systems have is the great low end......especially a flies out 14

Hi, Bad. I've seen many of the members from the old forum ask about you here from time to time. I'm very pleased that so many of them have made this place their home. Hoping that you will too. -bg

Its good to be back I've done a ton of bike wrenching lately, I'm about ready to be done with it lol. The busa got new rubber, coolant, exhaust, switchable tre, alarm, gearing and another thing or 2 I'm forgetting lol......but man did it wake the old bus up, it really rips now
Believe it or not kawi was responsible for me turboing the 14. I had no plans for any more mods on the big ninja, but the valve cover leak it had from the begining got so bad I had no choice but to tear it down to fix......I always get the urge to get other things done (like mod upgrades lol) while I have a bike apart, so I started shopping for a full exhaust. I almost had one picked out, then I read a turbo thread on the old forum...and TommyK was selling his kit to upgrade to a stage 2...we chatted a bit, and next thing you know the credit cards out and the kits on the way If I wouldn't have had my slight leak turn into a gusher I'd never have the turbo.....so thank you kawi I'm also installing a second radiator fan on the 14, along with a lock-up clutch. I'll give feedback on both of those mods when they're done as well
I'll also try and get a few pics up of the turbo kit on the 14 as its going on, and when its done
I have a helmet cam so I'm going to def post up some full on acceleration vids when the turbo's dialed in and running good...I know everybody loves a good through the gears video blast on the 14 The turbo's set for 8lbs of boost, but at my elevation I'll only be getting around 6........should still be good for around 240 or so rw ponies I think That should make for some exciting video footage eh?

And Slow I'm glad you kept the 14.....good choice, I didn't know you and Bad were going to have a race to see who the boards fast guy is tho...I'd love to see that The old boost versus gas shootout, oh yeah!!

WHAT?

An aftermarket can't save you that much.... CAN IT?

Well maybe!

You hit that on the head Rook lol. I'm a little wrenched out right about now...only so much bending over and up and down squats a guy can before you get kinda sore I'm just doing a little at a time now. Todays "grind the tab off the engine thats in the way of the turbo" day I'm off to get the right tip for my dremel shortly.
And Slow believe it or not I'm going to run the same gearing I had on before the turbo....17/42. I'm sure that will prob be way too short for even 6lbs of boost...but I just want to try it out I'm a little crazy like that lol. I'll get video of it for you guys before I come to my senses and gear up I just hope I don't drop down off a big ole' wheelie and break my drain bolt/oil pan I have a shortened pan as a back up if needed
Dogo thanks for showing the weight diff between the stock header and aftermarket. I'll be honest tho, it felt even heavier than that

Makes ya wonder what the gen2 weighs huh?

I know what ya mean though. That little scale maxes out at 11 lbs. I honestly thought I was gonna have to use a bathroom scale!

So what does your header weight now? I've heard them fancy ones with spinners are kinda heavy!

Hey, BnB... It's like the plumber came thru, unclogged the lines and the shit is flowing NOW! Is this a money bike or a daily driver or both?
