Pulled the previous owners PCV map

For those of you with experience in this arena let me know if this is way out of wack or pretty good.

Bike was originally tuned in central texas and is still operated at 500-600 ft above sea level. 2013 zx14r, Stock headers with voodoo dumps.

Well after looking at my 'custom' map and the 'stock exhaust' map from the PCV website it appears they are the same.

'tuned on a dyno' is that how I read this? Oh, pay me $200 for a dyno pull and oh, 'looketh over there!' 'Ha-ha... ' http://www.marketmenot.com/geico-oldest-trick-in-the-book-commercial/
First tuning trick in the book is download a map from pwcmder and charge you for it? Really.

Maybe someone can change a few numbers in the cells from here. I'd have to copy it, download it and run the AFR numbers to see where it's at?

I was a little less suspicious. I thought maybe the custom tune with stock header yielded the same #s as a stock map. I guess it would be unlikely that all the #s would be the same. The Voo-doo has to add some flow and your bike has it's own unique AFR needs. Sounds like someone kyped a dj map.

How 'bout you go back and ask them to let you watch the same bike on the dyno and if it comes back with the same #s as the dj stock map, you pay again. If it's different, they pay you back your $300 and let you keep the tune free. Of course, I'd probably want it tuned by someone else who was honest but just to put them in their place. I'm sure they won't agree to the tuning session for obvious reasons.

Always amazes me how the 100% columns of most so called custom maps show up reflecting almost exactly the same line as Brocks.

Interesting to note this was not the case when the zx14 R first came out. Tuners were shooting for same AFR Line of the Gen ones(13.1) Now most tuners realise their mistake and have adjusted for the leaner AFR line of the 14R(13.8) Their tunes are now reflecting that Faster line. Logically all maps "should" end up close to the same.

I love how a PCV map can be sent around for all to see and compare. You know, apples to apples. Wish we could do the same with the flashes for you guys. (Well I could, but I'm very sure that would be frowned upon).

When installing anything in "Your Bike" there should be no Mystery IMO. Mysticism creates the want to believe in the Magic Pill. Dozens of threads pop up all describing the same thing differently. Many get confused not knowing what to believe. This IMO is wrong ,,, life ?

Phildobaggins your map is fine. The ZX14R is one of the smoothest Kawi's to ever hit the street. Enjoy.

If you want all the Big girl has to offer your going to have to get into that ECU and remove the corks.

Logically all maps "should" end up close to the same.

Dyno pulling the wooling over your head is pick'a'tune and I'm only bringing in what you can read on this site.

Smoke's numbers and that one clinker about both ending up even, no gain at the top? And was 202hp about even? So both were flashed w/pig was one vs. the other. 6 slips, 3 apiece, I add up the numbers and was there a pig advantage? I'm going to say yes, unless someone can correct me, here are the numbers. Not pure science, just random dyno's and if they are dynojet dyno's, then they read the same sniff out the pipe to change ratios looking at the same dynojet software the dyno came with.

And then just recently between, snow, cold, prepped for arm flexes and too funny for words is say between waiting for some numbers to thaw, that 122.7 torque number pops up you want to flex a frequency. The flash is showing 118 tq and back to the book is 120 pounds worth of formula you need a number and that says zero. To me there is a minus next to -118 rather than 2 pounds lost with the silly science.

Stock ECU + Pig = 122.7 am I repeating myself?
Flash alone = -118 pounds is all she wrote.
Book formula = 120 torque.

If you want all the Big girl has to offer your going to have to get into that ECU and remove the corks.

I don't have a clue how this works, but I am looking at that stock ECU and a splash of gas the pig pushed out. I am standing outside your pit and hearing this conversation and I'm discussing this with trouser as if to say: who's bike would you sit on and tickle the end zone? Why, I'd sit on the asspucker stocker pig me bike.

WATThell just happened? It looks to me like: did the factory sell you the faster bike, but the flash has the ticket to where? Ass-eye write out that silly scenario shit, I would think you are right about a flash having the same hp?

And then the limited entry into the ECU. I am looking for some sort of step missing. So now I think, here is the 3-D layering effect vs. the TT having their own table. But if I take engine parts and layer them like a 3-D map, I can make the steps work like this:

Valve cover is removed = Layer 1
Cam caps removed = Layer 2
Cams removed = Layer 3
Shim bucket removed = 4
Shim under bucket and we stop at the 5th layer of some aftermarket map hack software. That's all she wrote, you do not see wheel spin settings, ABS maps, other laying over maps and their tables.

Where is the head map? = head being layer 6
Where is the head gasket layer? = 7th in the 3-D mapping.
Where is the top case cover map? = And so on is how you breakdown each job, a human has to write that job out, enter a vacuum number the chip maker set it to. So you gather all this telemetry that is preset and you take just a few maps and now the tables turn. Where are the other matching changes on down the chain of the 3-D mapping?

And if the parts passing that new data in binary, the chip has it's own forced upon directional flow of a truth table. There is bias flowing in one direction and another switching the other way is a diode flowing inside that chip. Electricity is running the show in numbers you can measure, did not something turn a -118 away from the book formula and oh look, stock was not touched, but the pig captured the signal already made like a spark made. Captured that flow of current and shit that bacon bits of bits to 122.7 pounds of shit hit the fan in your face. It sure Woke me up. Smells like the same old shit I've been repeating out the assfactor.

Signed,

Turtle keeps saying show me someone beating the factory OE at its own game go flash.

No I didnt pay anything for the "tune". My sales guy told me the previous owner had it dyno'd etc... but obviously he just installed the PCV and ran the base tune from their website on it. I was expecting something different on that map but whatev, I still got the bike for the good price.

uploaded the PCV muzzy slip on stock filter map to see if it would open up the bottom end at all. Looks alot leaner at light-mid throttle than the stock exhaust map

going for a check ride and wash, will report back.
