This is the bike that started all the insanity for me

I have many other bikes in the past, but the Blackbird was a game changer for me.

I started with an carbed '97, after about 40k it gave it's life (totalled in accident) so I could keep on riding

I replaced it with a FI '99 model, and have put around 35k on that one. While I have newer, faster bikes - I still loves my old XX. It has become my off season riding bike, since it is not so shiny and new any more.

I just got back from my second run to the backroads of Oregon, several 500+ mile days of insanely twisty backroads

Most of my other bikes are in hibernation, waiting for Spring

But I have managed to occasionally get a ride in on my Winter bike.

Last week, Mt. St. Helens.

Wow, I cannot believe all that snow is gone from the roads and surrounding hills. Makes for some nice riding tho, early Spring is coming...
