Engine light on after block off plate install
04/14/12 3:51 AM

Just finished up a full muzzy, Pcv, fan blades, block off plates, F/R & clutch braided lines.
Here’s what happened.

I installed pipe & P/C one night started it up every thing was fine no codes.

Next night I tackled the block off plates (Good God what a job) started bike up,have the engine light on. Even plugged the valve back in it’s still on. Any ideas?
Thanks

1. With key on, engine off:
2. Hold down both trip and mode and wait.
3. What is the flashing number(s)?

Thanks Hub I can't explain it. The light just went off. I tried everything last night. Took the ground off the battery, plugged the valve back in.
I even left the valve plugged in, it’s still sitting on top of the motor.
Made a quick trip too the dealer this looked down it was off
Thanks again

have you noticed any defference useing the muzzy exhaust and pc-5, how much weight did you lose by changing the exhaust?, iam trying to decide which exhaust system to use, any information you have would be very helpful. thanks Burt

Hi Burt I didn't weigh the muzzy but it not heavy. I would say that the stock header tubes weigh as much if not more then the full muzzy. I've had good luck with muzzy. I had a Full ti muzzy on my 2000 Zx-12 I paid like $700 for new.lol
Had one on my 06 Zx-14.

I'm not knocking Brocks at all I'm sure they make a great exhaust BUT.. $1800 man that is a lot of money. I paid about $1100 for everything (full pipe,Pcv,fans, block off plates)I'm saving for BST also.

As far as the difference in power. I was told the pcv would come with the right map. Boy was I wrong. It had the stock map in it. This is the e-mail I sent Dave @ muzzy. It happened Sunday I still haven't slept.

"Hi Dave this is Jody from WV talked too you last week about the fan blades. Here are a couple of pics. It looks good sounds great. Runs like crap. How bad you ask? Picture this if you will.

2005 zx-10 with just a yosh slip on with that cheap Chinese plastic from eBay and 2 PEOPLE on the bike. From a 2nd gear roll when I hit 3rd he went by me like I was hard on the brakes. It was that bad. It was sooo bad I’m thinking of painting my bike a different color changing my name and moving too a different state. Think god it wasn’t a Suzuki"

With that said. Dave sent me a map today. I haven't rode the bike as of yet.
The map he sent me i thought the Fuel table numbers would be bigger. I figured bigger motor & more air bigger numbers. I found my 06 map he sent me it has way bigger fuel table #‘s
I’m going too get a dyno tune. Talked too them Saturday he said they are 7 days behind.

I haven't felt this bad since the bully in grade school used too beat me up and take my lunch money

Back when muzzy made real exhaust

high Jody thanks for the quick reply, i have a muzzy exhaust and power commander v5 on order that is suppose to be here on Friday, the bike is going into the shop on next Tues for the install and tune , i am going to get a printout on the dyno while it is stock with 450 miles on it and then a printout when the exhaust and p/cv5 and custom map are installed. i have a hunch the p/c v5 will just come with a stock map. i got all my stuff from 58 cycle on line for $950 to my door. i will let you know the results, when i get it done. Burt.
