Picked up a cruiser
11/13/16 10:38 AM

This is the first cruiser that I have ever owned and I like it. It's an entirely different riding experience. This is an 03 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 with 11k miles. I guess Honda was trying to knock-off some of the Harley market. I test drove a couple of 883's and nearly pegged one of them out around a turn (that was a deal breaker for me), and in my opinion, the Shadow is a much better all-around bike.

You guys got something against cruisers? Come on now, I bet plenty of you have one in your garage, but just don't want to admit it. Hey, there's no shame in my game--I even own a moped. LOL!

nice looking bike. If I had one, i'm sure i'd use it but I would be grinding my teeth every time a sportbike screamed past.

You're so right Rook. The other day there was a C7 Z06 racing a Yamaha R1 and I had to just let them go by and grit my teeth. I kept thinking, if only I were on my 14R, I'd show them who's boss...

Hows the tailbone and arse on that cruiser? I can only ride one for about 30 min before my backside is in pain. IDK how the HD guys do it. I've rented a cruiser a few times from Eagle Ryder just for a change for the day and after a few time I guess I just cant get comfortable with my feet out front and my ass taking the load.

Very nice looking bike!

I like the "overall feeling" of the cruiser experience, but I am planning on getting a mustang day-tripper seat to ease the backside pain during extended rides.

I frequently take my stock H-D Fat Bob (with forward controls) out for 200+ miles rides and never have a problem with my ass... Probably because when I am riding with H-D folks, they all must have prostate problems because they have to stop every 45 minutes or so to take a leak, have a smoke and use their Leatherman to tighten up all the things that have vibrated loose on their bikes...

Having said that, I must have an iron ass because I have never had a problem with any of the stock seats on my bikes over MANY years. Guess I have been lucky that way!

The 1600 Vulcan feels like a tractor after riding the Ninja ;)

I've considered a 1600 Meanstreak or Yamaha Warrior.
I just cannot get comfortable having my feet so far forward.
