I was inspired by an 80s Eastwood movie he creatively renames some marines...

I do have one last thing to consider. IF ABS is so important to have, and it's so effective at preventing accidents, for example someone pulls out in front of you and you can swerve now where as with a non-ABS you'd smash into them, or a deer jumps out in front of you but now you can stop or swerve or whatever and with a non-ABS bike you'd smash into it, why do you need to wear a helmet when your bike has ABS? The emperor has no clothes, but at least does have underwear.

You are considering the black and white of it Vic and that is not the point. Its not whether or not you hit the deer, its whether you hit the deer at 50mph or 30mph. I will take 30 and a trip to the hospital vs dead any day. You simply cannot deny it is a useful tool on the street. Has nothing to do with performance, being a better rider, increasing your cool factor, etc etc. Has everything to do with leveraging the latest in technology at a chance you will live in a situation where you might not otherwise. If I could afford the 6k for an Alpinestars tech air suit, I would wear it every time I climbed on, but ABS is in my price range :)

ABS reduces stopping distances. It doesn't eliminate them.

DarkArcher you made the best decision. You can say it's for ABS. I'll say it's for value, although that will change of course and ABS will remain. If it had been a '14 for $1000 less (and no ABS) I probably wouldn't be saying you made the right decision.

You guys are saying I'm looking at it as black and white. You're doing just the same. I acknowledge in some cases ABS is helpful, but the reality is it doesn't make a bike safe enough not to wear gear. WWR and ABS? Absolutely. So how much safer is it? As far as the whole ABS will send me to the hospital instead of the morgue? It's got to be 1 in 1000 accidents that's the difference maker. Again I'm not anit-ABS. Most likely the next bike I buy will have ABS. However, let's say Kawasaki releases some bike that I'm googoo over and just have to have and it's not ABS, I'd still buy it.

I'm just looking at the black of it.

I really have the urge to split a black oak and change my luck.

2015 green abs $11,970

That's a *great* price. The power of patience, waiting a year, has on the wallet.

2015 green abs $11,970

That's a *great* price. The power of patience, waiting a year, has on the wallet.

That's what I paid for my 2015 with ABS last spring at Sportcycles in Rockingham, NC. I always get great deals there, and I didn't have to wait a year for a leftover. They took it out of the crate two days before I picked it up.

I acknowledge in some cases ABS is helpful, but the reality is it doesn't make a bike safe enough not to wear gear.

Vic, who said that they would stop wearing gear if they had ABS??? My new bike came with ABS, and I could take it or leave it... but I do ride in the rain a lot, so I like having it. Why does everything have to be a pissing match with you? Look, if you're just trolling with these comments just say so... I've done my share, so I understand that. The problem (if you are just trolling) is that you aren't good at it and you just end up looking stupid or petty.

Also, your interest in my penis is disturbing...
