Already void warranty based on the mods...technically any after market performance mod will void your warranty depending on the failure you get. Depends on dealer. Say you add a pc5 and hqve it tuned. Motor blows. Dealer can say not a factory modification may have caused failure. .no warranty
read your owners manual, it will tell you what will void warranty. Or your warranty contract.

Its a bit difficult to say a warranty is totally void. Technically, the after market part or modification has to have caused the failure. BUT its easy for the dealer to say that horsepower mods caused an engine to have a problem. Then you could have a fight on your hands. So, spin a bearing and you have an ecu flash and full exhaust/tune? Your probably screwed. They do an oil analysis and find you are running a different weight oil than the book says? Tough call, but your likely screwed. IF they check.

NOW, if your alternator or rectifier, or gauge cluster (or some other unrelated part) went bad and they tried to deny warranty because of an aftermarket exhaust; its much harder for them to do. Fuel pump goes bad, and you have slip ons, should be no big deal.

Plus, it depends on what kind of relationship you, the dealer, and the warranty rep have. A certain dealer that commonly sells all those mods as part if a "package", especially when new? Chances are they will make the warranty claim slide through. Unless they tell you right up front the engine/trans have no warranty.

Lots of variables here.

It depends on the dealer. My dealer and I had an agreement - IE if something went wrong they would pretend to ignore the full system Yosh configuro and block off plates, and PCV. What is your relationship like with the dealer???

When my engine blew, the Kawi rep examined my bike very carefully looking for any signs that there had been a PC installed, ECU removed, exhaust work, aftermarket air filter, etc. my dealer told me that he was looking for some cause to deny the warranty claim. All I had done at that point is run power to my tank bag, radar detector, and some LED lights. None of that affected my warranty claim, but I'm sure a PC or a ECU flash would have. The Kawi rep interrogated me thoroughly about those things. My dealer said if you have stuff like that installed and you blow an engine, just take all that off before you bring it in for service (and any signs that it was there).

I tend to not do anything that can't be undone, should warranty concerns arise.

Keep your stock exhaust, have the means to unflash your flashed ECU, etc.

They might be able to detect that stuff once you put it all back to stock, but they'd have to really dig, and I doubt they'll waste their time.

Extended swing arm, 240 kit

You claim poor steering, worn swing arm bearing, chain replaced under warranty? Get outta town.

Full exhaust
Engine blows? Not even close. No pipe blows engines. Make a claim.

Power commander....if needed?
You score a piston being tuned too lean. Tough shit.

Earn your webbed feet before warrantee is up> serves you right. What were you thinking! Play the game or take the hit out of the pocket you just had to mod the bike and couldn't wait for what?

A bog from some pipe
A no start being the pc's fault
A pop you can't remove
A cry for a better map on line

No, I need to fiddlefuck wit the bike under warrantee no less.

EITHER: Eat it and weep.
OR: Wait for the warrantee to run out and savor those new pair of shoes... Quack-Quack!
