Power Commander Question
02/27/09 7:29 PM

Ok, I dropped my Scorpion Slip on off at the Dealership so that when they preped my new 2009 Monster ZX-14, they could put them on. I also asked them to install a Power Commander.
Now I get a call telling me the Bike is READY, and the Slip ons are installed....

BUT...

Now the say that the Power Commander for the 2009 Zx's is not available yet. That it will be out soon ?
Why won't the old PC work on the 09's ?

Is it true what the dealer is telling me ?

If so, I hope the new unit will be out by the end of March. My broken leg should be strong enough to ride by the, if my Bike is rideable

Congrats on the new bike . Your bike will be be rideable without the power commander all tho you will have better performance gains once the bike is maped with your new pipes installed . I'm not sure but the plugs maybe diffrent . I looked on their website and Dynojet is showing the New power commander five for the 2009 coming soon . Looks like a nice unit with some cool auto tune features . I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in soon . What colour ?

It's the Monster Energy Model (Black)
Yea, my 06 ran "OK" without the Power Commander, but the idle was a little rough, and it POPPED when you let off the throttle.
With the Commander installed it was AWESOME. I'm trading my 06 in on the 09. Because of my BUM leg, my "BETTER" half will be picking up the new one. It's just a wee bit bigger than her '88 750R

The old Power commander should work on the 2009 zx14, probably would have to use a 2008 map. I ordered the PC V for my 2008 model and it calls for the old PC. They are suppose to be the same bikes just different colors. When in doubt call Kawasaki up and talk to a tech rep, they can give you an official answer on the stock bike specs.

I forgot to mention when I called Dyno, they told me there was no support for the PC V for the 2008 zx14, just the 2009, but a person can read between the lines . hehe
