stuck with 17 front to convert to touring gearing with ease (switch wheels to the stockers which will have a 41T on the rear).
The 16T might make a whining noise with the chain making the turn around the smaller radius. Even my aftermarket 17T does that at times.
It does add a bit more weight to go to 45 rear instead of 16 front but I like the look of the bigger sprocket.
You should slap a 45T on the back and try to keep the front down with that! I'm sure the bike would still do 145 mph which is fast enough for most of my little outbursts. (for now )

MassZX14 had that gearing although he did not have any engine work like you do. He liked it. I think it would be insane. No need for first gear. Might be interesting to try but sure a lot of work to switch back....but not for you. You just need to switch rear sprockets.

Just received my 16t sprocket in the mail yesterday. Pretty stoked about installing it. I'm gonna wait until AFTER my 3 day trip this weekend, but I bet it sure would be fun to have there in the Ozarks!

Ok so what's the stock setting? I just got my ZX-14 and still run the stock gearing would it be better if I switched to a bigger front sprocket or a bigger back? I've Been thinking about changing it but I don't go to the track much just ride to work and back. I'm about 215 lbs to in which I'm trying to shed some more lbs now. I lowered it to but haven't touched the front at all. Any suggestions guys? Thanks
