New Spiegler brake lines with Pics

Earlier this year I installed ABS brakes on my non-ABS ZX14R. I never did like the way the front lever felt. It was too easy to pull to the bar. I decided to install some ss lines. Here is some pics of the procedure. I will update again after I finish and test it out.

The ABS brakes that you installed must have a self-contained computer chip to modulate the braking, right?

No. I bought the entire wiring harness, ecu, abs pump from a wrecked bike as a doner.

Hi dehail. I've found the front brake on my 08 will lock long before the lever reaches the bar. Maybe for an experienced track rider brakes could fade that much but for the street rider, I can't see needing that much brake. Anti-lock brakes are always a good thing no matter how hard or how often you brake, though.

Hey Rook. I agree with you but it did give me another reason to score some nice looking lines. I just finished putting everything back together. I bled the lines and now the front brake is rock hard and I cant squeeze it to the bar. All is good.

Those are some sweet lookin lines and out of the three brands I've tried, I think Spiegler is best looking and the twistable banjos are a great feature. The solid kevlar lines ihave from Lockhart Phillips make line upgrades a weight a weight loss mod too.

I have some orange Galfer lines going on the 14 this winter. Not as good of a color as Spiegler orange but I have them so might as well use them.

Love the way those lines look, i went with black lines & gold fittings. What could be bad with something that looks great and is functional. Stock breaking power is great as Rook said, but I notice more "feel" with the steel lines.
