Ok so I have a 2018 zx14r se and I am still getting accustom to it coming from the bus. So I have a couple of questions I need help with.
1. I bought a grab rail, just cause its easier for me to put it on the stand, I thought it would have been painted in the metallic gray since I have the green/gray color. But much to my surprise it came with a basic black matt look. Is this the way this is? Just seems odd since Kawasaki spends so much effort on fit and finish.
2. Since I have the se model would it be any issue to change the clutch and brake levers out to something else? I had crg shorty levers on the busa and really liked them.
3. Im really pissed that my 18 lost 10hp over the 12's because of those euro emission standards.OK that was not really a question.
4. And lastly what exactly does an 18 put out in hp and tq. at the wheel..??? I know that there is data on this but to me its been much like a bigfoot sighting. I mean you kinda know its out there but you cant quite get a picture of it....

I like Pazzo levers. I had a problem with the clutch lever fitting and the clutch slipped but I only hear a few comments about that with Pazzo and other levers. I'll give My Pazzo another try but I might need to bring the pushrod in the MC down a touch. Sure seems like it should fit after $70/lever but maybe I got an oddball.

Are the emissions standards all ECU based? Get a 2012 ECU on there!!! Damn I'd be fuming if I bought a Gen2 engine for my Gen1 and it ended up making almost the same hp. WTH was Kaw thinking? There has got to be a way to fix that.

Im not sure what year the changes were made but the problem is not just with the ecu as I understand it. Its also in the exhaust system itself coupled with the ecu changes. I spoke with Brocks folks and I would have to change the exhaust out if I get the ecu flashed. Of course doing that gets the 10hp back and the other added bonuses that come from the flash. So if I got an alien head,pc5 with a brock street map and the ecu flash I would come out with 215 ish overall. I would just need to do it all at one time. About $2500 more or less. Dollar for dollar it would be worth it but its just not gonna happen this year I dont think.
