I haven't done it yet (only 160 miles), but cleaning and lubing the ZX14R chain with stock pipes looks like a pain. Can you even take off the guard without removing the stock exhaust pipe? anyone have any tips, other than buy new slip-ons.

I found when new my chain needed frequent adjustment until about 2K miles. Its easy to drop the pumpkin chucker with a one bolt at the rear peg and the clamp underneath. I also remove the L foot peg assy so it's easier to clean and lube. I think a long phillips head screwdriver will remove the chain guard screws. The whole process is much easier with the L can removed.
