DFI F1 Code
04/06/17 11:21 PM

Recently my bike has been filling up with oil in my air box. Once i cleaned it all out, drained the oil, and replaced. I pulled my spark plugs because the bike wasn't turning over. Gladly i replaced those thinking all will be good. nope fuck me, My F1 code pops up , now the manual says that it is the Digital fuel injection system. My battery is brand new. any ideas on how to fix this ? or would the shop be the best option ? thanks

If you have a PC5 or Bazzaz, the pins in the connectors could be bent. Did you disconnect that?

Are you sure the stick coil wires are connected/pins are straight?

A bent pin can be very hard to detect visually without magnification. A 14 running on 3 cylinders may not sound or run much weaker than all 4 under normal street riding conditions.

If memory serves me well this morning, the F1 code is more of a generic "it be broke" kind of code, turn the ignition on, hold down both buttons and it should flash what the actual error code is.

There are a number of wiring harnesses under the air box and it's entirely likely that you may have accidentally disconnected a loose connection. Hopefully the error code helps direct you to the issue, if not grab a really good flashlight and a take your time checking the top area of the engine to find all of the wiring harnesses.

If i'm not mistaken, oil in the airbox(at least as much as you say)is evidence of overfilling.I've had that.Even Brock has had that.you ride your bike like you're at the drag strip?

Yeah i have a PCV but all pins are good. And on the oil over fill, it could have been , i only put in 4 qt when i changed the oil ,but once i tried to take off the filter we had to use a pipe wrench. As good as i can see all my wiring is connected, im gonna go try that double button and see if i get the issue to pop up
