Leaky Fuel Injectors?
05/01/13 8:36 AM

While doing the 600 mile service today I pulled the plastics to inspect the major components of the engine and found I have a fuel leak between the RH outside injector and the fuel rail, I think the inside one next to it might be leaking as well. The other side is dry. Should I take it to my dealer and let them worry about it or forget about it and keep an eye on it if it gets worse?

If you look close you can see the fuel leaking

No, you did the right thing to inspect the bike visually for leaks like water/oil/gas are the 3 liquids. So yes, those o-rings need changing. A fuel fire and that kind of pressure it's under, will keep pumping out fuel. So be it a cracked or leaking injector body or an o-ring, 600 miles says warranty and let the dealer write it up so you covered your rear end they calling the shots no you.

Thanks for the input Hub. I called my dealership and setup an appointment. The service manager is going to inspect the leaking injectors and put new o-rings on all four injectors while he has it apart. I'd do it myself but as long as its under warranty I ain't touching a damn thing I don't have to. I trust the shop manager there with any kinda of work, everything I know about wrenching on motorcycles I learned from him when I used to work in the shop there
