So, being partially disabled but still able to ride and drag race, I needed to come up with a solution to loading the bike in my van, Moby Truck. I figured out a few things along the way.
I made a tow bar out of 5/8ths all thread which fits through the front axle of the 14r. Then I made a spreader bar out of 2X4 with a big eye hook through its width in the middle and two smaller hooks on the end to guide the tie down straps I hook to the tow bar. That spreads them around the front wheel. I hook the straps to the tow bar and tighten the nuts down a little. I installed a $69 2000 lb ATV winch on the floor of the van, between the seats, where the floor is flat , so I can through bolt it and reinforce the bottom with a bit of plate steel. I extended the wiring for the controller out to the back, where I am standing. The wire cost more than the winch, lol.
I tried this today and it's total overkill. It towed the bike up the ramp and into the van without issue and i can use the tow bar to hook my tie downs to, so, I don't risk the plastics and clip ons by hooking them to the bars, like i normally would.
All in all, very inexpensive and now, I don't need a hefty friend to come over every time I want to go to the track. Yay!
