I Just Want Some Beetlr Bags.....
06/28/18 11:27 AM

Ladies and Gents,

I know it says I just joined, but I've been on the forum for about 6-7 years now (can't remember my username for some reason). Anyway, I've been looking for the Candy Blue beetle bags from Corbin for literal years now, but can't justify $2k for them new. Anyone got a lead on a set? I've given up hope on going solo and am reaching out for help. Thanks everyone! (2012 14R by the way...)

You could always buy the paint to KHI factory code from one of the online suppliers and diy it. Thats what I did for the Sargent pod for my '06 Candy Blue

Danno,

I'd be interested in the top case mount and perhaps the top case too.

May I have pictures of yours please?

Thanks,
John

I’ve received several inquiries from 14R owners on the bags and mounts. I think the only issue is clearance to the stock mufflers. As far as I know, the subframes and rear peg/muffler hangers are the same for all years and generations of ZX14s and that’s where the quick-detach mounts hang on the bike. The new style qd brackets are made of tubing and flat plate like the ones I had for my ZZR 1200. The ones I have are 100% tubing. If anyone knows any different, please post up and I will pass it on to the next 14R owner who asks.

Danno, I have the SW Motec/V35 Givi bags on my 2012 ZXr. I moved them from my 07 ZX.
Direct bolt on with no problems but I have Yosh slip-ons so I can't say if the set up clears stock mufflers.
I seem to remember someone making brackets to lower the stock mufflers slightly to clear the bags but I have no dimensions to offer.

I made the brackets and then sold them after the great folks at Muzzys made some from stainless and included them when I ordered some of their stainless hanger loops.
Thanks Hank, for confirming what I suspected about fitment for the R.

If you want to buy Danno's bags, I've got a used set of the SW Motech Quick Lock Evo racks to mount them on your bike. When I crashed my 14R the bags got hammered, but the rack held up fantastically. Shoot me a text if you're interested!

Not a problem. Someone may have a deal on some bags and just needs the mounts. I had inquiry on the bags without the mounts, but I don’t want to split them up.”
