Got an alien head (brocks) slip on put on. Runs really well, the only problem is that the end of the pipe is about 1 inch away from my rear pegs. When my wife rides with me, I'm scared that the soul of her shoe will melt on the pipe. What options do I have for the rear pegs and in some positions my brake foot when I occasionally slide my foot all the way back? Thought about some type of high heat tape or padding that will absorb an occasional foot contact and not melt the soul of a shoe. keep in mind that I'm referring to the end of the alien head where the exhaust exits the pipe for the passenger.

Are you sure you have it lined up right?Maybe you can twist that midpipe some...or the muffler,or both.

It's only one way for it to line up so it can bolt on

IDK what you could use then...there's got to be something you could apply to that muffler...maybe call Brock's...they have good customer service...

Someone used to make aluminum plates that fastened to a round pipe with Hose clamps. They were very nice looking with large perforations and came in a few anodized colors. Maybe could be modded to grip an A-head.

...might just get one myself. Would need to do something to hold in place cuz my muffler is a sorta flared tube shape, not a uniform diameter.

It's made for a tube not a cone but worth considering. I'd try bending one to the right shape or maybe just try to make one yourself out aluminum plate from Home Depot. little JB Weld, couple of hose clamps...perfect fit if you want to put the hours in on something like that....draw a patern up and mass produce. Sell to Brock!!

Wonder if you could get a heat shield from a zx12R...and have a shop tig weld it onto the muffler?They were chromed...looked pretty nice on that zx12?

It's not super thin. I'd say almost a 16th inch by the pics. Prolly would be best to bend it over some sort of form like a large dowel or something. You might get it pretty close to the right shape for an A-head.
