Raining like hell today and traffic stops fast in front of me. Got to see what ABS is good for. Oh shit moment! Traction control too, what a friggen awesome invention. Coming from gen 1 BUSA realize how great brakes are on this damn thing! Swear back brakes alone are better than BUSA was with both brakes. I could get use to this!

Yes, ABS is an awesome addition. Pouring rain and I just slam on the brakes from about 40mph and all the bike does is controllably stop, truly confidence inspiring. Now I'm confident that when the time comes for a panic stop I can just grab a hand full of front lever and a foot full of rear lever without worry about tucking.

This is the 1st bike I've owned with ABS and it's definitely the best braking experience I've ever sampled.

I dont use it as much as i thought i might, but if i only need it once it was worth the cost. That has already happened so.....

I needed to do an emergency stop on a VFR1200 and when the abs started to activate the bike kept moving forward and I thought "I'm going to hit this bitch" I've been riding for 20 years and done over 40 trackdays, I feel I have a pretty good feel for how much distance I need to control my speed, and I feel completely uncertain about ABS now.

It was dry and clean pavement but I do think I crossed over a crack in the pavement under braking.

ABS kicked in the other day for the first time when a genius on a bicycle decided to cross 2 lanes of stopped cars at a light while I was lane splitting between them. Probably only doing 20mph, but literally 1-2 feet longer stopping distance and I would have run him over dead center. Instead, I just mangled his rear wheel and kept my bike perfectly straight w/o hitting cars. Bike did a 0 MPH fall at the end, but only a slight scratch on the frame slider.

I'm on a 2012 and supposedly they did not come with the ABS activated even though the hardware is all there but I know it has kicked in on the track so WTF?

Auron, Does the VFR have linked brakes? Those do not get good reviews with sportbike guys. My dad loves it on the F6B, but I think something is lost on that technology with lighter bikes. Also not sure what year your VFR is but after the 2012/13 models they made major improvements to breaking and a few other biggies that users complained about.
