Here comes the sun...
03/03/15 1:03 PM

Finally looking ahead to next weeks 50 degrees and sunny temps up here in NW Indiana area after some bitter cold temps. Been staring at my bike waiting to ride for quite a long time, it is brutal. Spring is finally here. Whats your opinions,is 50 degrees good enough for a nice ride? It's good enough for me.

It's almost shocking. I'm in a panic to get the thing together now. Damn, I wonder if I can ever get all the mods done. Some I have been thinking of for more than 3 years.

50° is nothing. My morning commute is 37°. But by 1pm it's 68°. You couldn't pay me to move to your guys cold weather states.

Got out today. Went from Orange County, out Ortega Hwy, down to Borrego springs, up to Julian for lunch and home. About 350 miles, with temperatures between 36F in the morning and 83 in the afternoon. Got home and pulled both wheels; baby's going to get new shoes in the morning. Will scuff them in in the afteernoon and back out again on Sunday. These So Cal winters are brutal!

27 here last week...I went out...had a ball.A few times.Felt REALLY good to roll again.Roads were dry and clear...very nice. The Ninja just LOVES those temps...I think the engine temp never got above 145.I did notice a few times that the motor didn't feel like it was pulling quite as strong as maybe in higher temps...but that was probably the air density going on.The air was fairly dry(meaning thinner than usual). That's my guess.

DAmn! Looks like it's about 40 out right now. I feel like going out in a Tshirt and shorts. I'm totally serious. After getting used to being out in single digit temps for a month and a half, this feels warm to me.

The cycles of snow, rain, freezing rain, snow in my area led to water pouring under my garage door and freezing to about 3/4 of an inch, completely encasing both my motorcycles in an icy cocoon. I spent part of my day freeing the 14. My track bike still has some ice around it.

Looking forward to a couple warmer days this week for sure.

Hi Maddevill,

I believe we came across on Hwy 35 this morning. I was riding towards Alice and waved at a 2-up red Gen I Ninja heading the opposite direction around 9:20am or so. You were super fast It was indeed beautiful day and I enjoyed riding as well.

Got out Yesterday for a nice 25 mile ride. 46 degrees and sunny. Had some wicked cross winds and sheer on the highway but I tucked a bit and hit 120 pretty smoothly. The 70 mph to 120 mph is scary quick. Supposed to have 50's and sunny all week here. Thanks for sharing and be safe everyone and watch out it's early and not many bikes out.

The forum has been quite dead the last couple days. NOrmally, I would not be happy but if it's because of good weather, I'm all for it!

We had mid -upper 50s last two days!! One good rain and I'll be out. Have to take the opportunity to start de-winterizing this weekend.

Hey there Oldman! Yeah that must have been me and the wife. Was this south of Alices? We got to breakfast around 8:30 then went down to Boulder Creek, up Bear Creek to Old Santa Cruz Hwy, to Summit, down Soquel to Hwy 152 and over to Uvas Dam road. Was a great day for a ride. Let's get together for some coffee sometime.
