life throws challenges an curve balls at us sometimes.... mine's lasted 2 years.... dang it!

In 2008 I started this project, and then was forced to move and change work locations do to my career.
Selling, buying, developing, finnishing and settling into a new house with new landscaping takes the wind out of my zx14 sails....

Anyway here is the beginning, what it became, and what it is now.
2006

Stock for one month, then flies out, SMEG, PC3, lowered 1" frt, and 2" rear, 16 tooth, speedohealer

2007
6" trac arm, ohlins shock and damper, puig screen, muzzy airshifter and NOS, dynotune bottles, stainless lines, vortex rearsets, zx10 fender, 16 tooth, speedohealer PC3 and LCD, Tiger undertail

2008

Sealing and prepping the frame:

Eccentric adjustable steering stops for the GSXR lower, and zx14 frame:

The eccentrics were machined, and the allen bolts have since been countersunk.

sneak peek at the R6 tail

The first incarnation with modified zx14 rails.
I have since made an entire custom subframe, dropping some major poundage, and claening up the look.

allot of changes and improvement have been made along the way.
I am a perfectionist, but I need to perfect getting it completed, then go back.

I had so many issues with the first turbo kit, It screwed my progress last summer, and eventually wasted 4 weeks in July.
I parked the project and got on with life. It was that or fix with sledgehammer.
I sold that kit and am procurring one from Chris Jones.

well its not done yet, so we will see, but I have been keeping close tabs on the weight I have chopped off it.
It will be capable of 500+ on c-16 for races, but will be detuned to about 300 RWHP on pump gas for street.

The stacks are by BigCC of the UK.
Chris Jones makes them now and more affordable. I would not use them on a NA engine though. You will loose too much mid and low end power / drivability

I have more pics to post,
Ti banjo bolts, axles, etc, Brocks quick links,Chris Jones Secondary injectors Blow off, and a few other things.
Fuel system with areomotive 1:1 regulator, JJ quick disconnect fuel line fittings, AN8 suction and return plumbing
New lower profile seat, catalyst plastics ready for paint.
Almost all of the bare billet has been Anodized black now too.

Only 470 lbs? C'mon man, you should be shooting for more like 420. I think mine weighs in at 475

Will see when its done.
-7 lbs wheels
-5 lbs forks and tripples, clip ons
-13 lbs tail section & seat, signal lights, pass pegs
-38 lbs exhaust
-3.0 lbs ram air junk
-1.5 lbs fairings
-2 lbs mirrors
-2.5 lbs toolset
-2 lbs vortex rearset and rear brake system
-2 lbs ignition and locks / fuel cap
-9 lbs battery
-1 lbs pan, clutch cover
-2 lbs balance shafts
-1.5 lbs air injection junk
-2.0 lbs oil cooler

= 91.5 lbs drop

+4 lbs Bottle and shifter
+2 lbs data logger, sb6, guages, boost control
+1 lb steering damper
+34 Turbo system complete
+10 swingarm

= 51 lbs gain

Thats 40 lbs lighter than stock bike,

To think if it was natural aspirated stock wheelbase, I could get it down 80 lbs!
Thats crazy!
Literbike territory! with big block power!

Oh yeah, forgot about the turbo and stuff.

What swingarm are you going to run? Most aftermarket swingarms are lighter then stock.

its a mac alumipro, and before I had a trac arm. Both are heavier
Most arms are NOT lighter than the stock arm. I don't think any are, unless is chromoly, and NOT braced.
Even the molly arms that are underbraced are slightly heavier.

I have to say though, that mac arm is a work of art, and it will not twist under load. STOUT!
