Welp, right off the bat there are no pictures. I dropped my phone getting on my bike and my phone suffered some sort of brain damage. Didn't get it working until last night.
So, once again it's time for another Maddevill Breakfast Loop. Day was sunny, but in the 40s. Thank Dog for the electric vest! Today's crew was just 3. George on his 2008 Tuono, ( "The Beast" ) and Kevin on his 2017 FZ09.
As usual it started at Alice's for eggs and coffee. We sat outside under one of the heat lamps to stay warm. Fueled up, we headed down the hill toward La Honda. Roads were mostly dry but there were damp patches in the shady corners.
I led the way and was feeling good. Had a few minor slides from the rear and that pretty much dictated the pace. Down the hill we flew toward the ocean, 3 bikes in formation swooping back and forth through the sunlight and shadows. As before, Kevin passed me on Pescadero Rd. I tried to follow but he was more comfortable pitching it in on damp corners than I was. He has exceptional corner speed. He's one of those guys who just sits on the bike and looks like he's going slow but is hauling ass. Got down to Davenport on the coast for more coffee and sweet rolls. Then another fast romp up Pine Flat Rd, where NOBODY stays with me. It's my kind of road. Fast smooth 5th gear sweepers.
The KNGKAWI was working just beautiful. The Conti Sport Attack tires giving great feedback. We eventually made our way back to the starting point at Skywood Corners. It sure feels good to be back out on the bike. I've never had a connection to a bike like I have with the ZX. Every time I ride it I fall in love with it again.
I hope you all have a great 2020. Now get out and ride.
