Just curious, what tire pressure do you guys run in your front tire? I run 42 psi up front on my Metzeler. I know that tire type can make a little difference, but like I said just curious.

42 F&R. Can tell if it goes soft... not as sharp/fast/on a needle point if rolling down the drive... and that's any tire brand.

42 to 45 F/R for best wear. 35 F/R for best grip. Most of the tires I have used do not handle as well at pressures lower than 32 psi. I feel the front flex abruptly when I turn in and the steering has a more resistance to input from my arms. Low pressure performance might improve when the tires warms up considerably but it is not really possible to keep the tires that warm on the street.

The race oriented Pirellis I've been using handle very nicely and have excellent grip at pressures as low as 25 and that is on the street. They're awful pricey though. I've even tried 22 psi and they still feel good.

I can answer that. "as much as possible because you will be stopping at the next nearest gas station and hoping to god they have air."

I rode a hundred miles with a puncture. No bubble gum and no screw. Leave the nail alone. There's a dirty little secret about riding a flat tire.

The last few yrs I've been more concerned about damaging a wheel on the shitty pothole roads in SoCal than I am about cornering ability. Here libs raise the gas tax by claiming they dont have $$ to fix the roads (cause they have to pay fat pensions and salaries) and still dont even fill in potholes. I never ride 2 up so I go with 40 F and ~39 R, the way I ride a bit more air in the front seems to help turin. Track days are a different game completely.

this tyre pressure saved me more than once, when hitting nasty potholes
