I use my bike on the road quite often and I like the look of the bike with the tail but had to remove it when I packed the bike to travle. So this is my first adventure into metal and body work to make a steel tail. I am going to use d-ring inset deck latches like on a bass boat for the bunge cords, that way when the cords are removed they will set flat aginst the tail peace. Going to install a whale tail (small) off the back also so my pack will set better. The pack is longer than can be strapped with out hanging over the end of the bike. have a long way to go but will show pic when finished.
