Anyone know the specs on the oil pan, drain hole bolt?
Looking to get a flush mount hex head replacement.

OK.. been watching this thread for more information to surface for several days now... nothing.
Slowninja, pretty sure JDC wants to know the drain plug size & pitch, not the oil pan retention cap screw size. The drain plug is 12mm and 1.5 pitch. Now, anyone got a solid lead on a low profile replacement of that size? Preferably an internal hex style? I have looked exhaustively with no luck.

oh crap, i thought he was talking about the retention bolts.
my bad
take the pan off and take it to a fab shop. I had my drain plug relocated to the back. works great, + extra ground clearance.

those look hardly any shorter then the stock ones??
you gain, maybe 1/8" of ground clearance?
of course, its just guessing without having both here in front of me. Basically what i'm saying is if you hit the pan with the drain plug on the bottom you're going to tear the bottom of the pan out. Trust me i've done it.
With the plug on the back, if you hit the pan its just going to scrape. Plus they added an extra plate (very thin, but still extra) on the bottom of mine i'm even more protected.
Its you guys' deal, i'm just sayin that is what i've done.

Pic could be deceiving.. I guess I'll know soon enough?

pics must be deceiving. I didn't see that picture.
I'm not sure if having an allen head is any better then having a hex head. I've stripped way more allen bolts then i have hex. Granted, my experience is with high torque applications.. Just seems to me like the hex head is safer.

seems like you could grind 3/4 of that bolt head off for free.

$10 for two bolts is free.

For me it is less the height of the bolt than getting rid of the portion that gets knocked out of shape for the wrench. The allen head hole is harder to damage.
The two bolts, I got for free, showed up today and the Allen hex hole is the deepest I have ever see before. Just measured it at over 7mm deep. Not saying you couldn't strip it.. but would be very difficult.
I'll take some measurements once I am holding the currently destroyed second OEM oil drain bolt now currently holding back my oil.

Oil changed, chewed up OEM drain plug bolt replaced with low profile internal hex plug bolt and new washer. Took some pictures of the measurements for a visual comparative.
Over 6mm. Significantly more clearance.. now my exhaust will take the entire hit when I touch down. Arrgh!

what exhaust are you runnin' motocycho? my headers are lower than my stock bolt
M14 Titanium System with a Oval Titanium Muffler. My header was lower than the stock bolt too.. when perfectly straight up and down. Lean more to the left and the drain plug was closer, back to the right and my titanium header is what would touch down if it is gonna touch. Pisses me off to no end, but WTF can I do now? Tell ya what tho.. as expensive as the header is I would much rather bounce it off pavement than bust open an oil pan after slamming down from a wheelie I couldn't ride out. Guess I really need to practice setting those down more gently. Anyway.. might be a Brock's pipe in my future.

well motocycho, i'm pleased to report that i have no clearance issues with the (new to me) headers. i ride bumpy roads to work everyday and no touch downs this morning! but that's not the best part. the best part is the crazy power i've got now above 4k rpms! not to mention the suttle weight reduction from the slipons. i'm very pleased with this m10 so far!
