Thank You.. and Stay Safe!

Well, after a fun 8 months with the ZX14R, the time has come to say goodbye. Just sold her today to another enthusiast who im sure will have his own good times on it..
As for me, i made the decision after i realized that my style of riding requires a more comfortable position and versatility, so i wound up buying a dual sport, a first for me after owning sporties and cruisers and dirtbikes when i was a kid. I now have the opportunity to ride with my son and his dirtbike as well..
Its funny going from the fastest bike on the road to one of the slowest. This new bike is a Chinese 250cc bike made by Bashan and after doing my due diligence, pulled the trigger on it.. a whopping $1950 new, came in a crate and i put her together with my son, teaching him along the way.
I may pick up another cruiser at some point but for now am happy with the DS, plus have plenty of change left from the sale for another bike if/when the time comes..

Just wanted to pass along my thanks for the guidance and knowledge i gained from this forum.. stay safe and keep the shiny side up :)

Congrats, tknj99. I've had my bikes for over ten years and when I think about getting a new one, I often wonder if it might be better to buy a couple bikes I could enjoy with my kids instead of whatever the fastest bike available might be. If you're enough of a hooligan, you will still be a handful for most sport bikes on a twisty road. I had remember the time I chased a guy on a dual sport bike and I was coming very close to crashing to keep up with him. I think it was a 400 but a 250 might have been even more of a challenge on that road.

Enjoy your new bike and come back to visit someday.

Thank you.. yes its amazing what a higher center of gravity and lighter weight can do, im pleasantly amazed at how fast i can go around bends.. now, getting up to that speed takes a little patience lol

I am also heading into a sport touring or maybe dual sport mode but want to enjoy the 14R for another year or two.

I have a Harley for the really long rides and there is nothing like the 14 for the day rides. Happy trails...

Although motorcycles have broken my bones, they have greatly improved my quality of life. A fair trade...
