Yes shoes, not boots.....I know they are useless in a getoff, but I am more concerned about comfort off the bike for this application. Anyone ever use them? Thinking of this kinda stuff
Thanks for the input.

If they come up over your ankle (which means they shouldn't come of in a get-off) and are made of some substantial material (heavy nylon, canvas or leather) they might not be as good as boots, but they're better than sneakers or sandals.

Four different boots/shoes make me an expert LOL
Why not get the best of both worlds?
If $$ is not an issue I would say get the Supertech R. I know you said shoes but they are really comfy. Actually more comfy than both my Gaerne shoes (don't get those) and my Dainese's. If $$ is not an issue and you don't wear your pants too tight get those!
Then you have the Dainese Axial Pro in. They go under your leather pants and attach via velcro patches. I wear them with my two piece leather suit for aggressive riding. Not the most comfy but not too bad. As far as safety... Valentino Rossi and co wear them...
Now back on the topic... SHOES. In my experience most of them have a stiff sole which will hurt you feet if you walk long enough no matter what. That being said my Dainese Quito are pretty comfy and I can wear them for a whole day with no issues. Several have complemented me on the look and I have been tempted to wear them when I'm in the cage. For a moderate impact they should do fine but, shoes don't have shin protection and THIS looks painful.

I have a set of Alpine Star boots, that are basically like hightops. Ive had light wrecks in them and they still look great. And Ive worn them for 12+ hours in one day as well, and they stay comfy.

Thanks guys. I ended up with some made in China alpinestars just above the ankle type boots.
I use them for work teaching for CSC (MSF for you yankees). In an 8 hour day, I may ride an hour in total.
I use daytonas for street/touring, full MX for the woods and alpinestar web goretex for the rain.
My squid days are pretty much behind me.

If I could find a high top riding shoe that would fit my 11 1/2 EEEE feet, I'd buy a pair tomorrow. So far, only SIDI makes motorcycle footwear that fits me.

She failed, choked on the test......sz she's coming back this wknd for the retest. We'll see. She wasn't riding too bad by the end, didn't quite get clutch control though, that's what got her.
Well she made it this time.
